Positive: All the staff had great customer service skills, couldn't fault check in. Great quality food. This hotel is in a beautiful setting however on a main road.
Negative: Our room was lovely although on the small side, and being on the main road was not great for trying to sleep as it was hot had to close the window. This along with the room having an adjoining door with a gap in it meaning you could hear every word and noise from the neighbours! We had breakfast and dinner on both days that we stayed. Food was fine, my only issue was that we were never offered any condiments e.g. sauces and when I really did want some with my fish and chips I had to ask twice as the first member of staff didn't bring it despite me specifically asking. The service to take an order just for a drink initially was slow. The coffee in the flask during breakfast was just warm. And a very limited supply of croissants it appeared once gone there were no more.
Summary: Great hotel in a beautiful setting , need some attention to the little things!

Positive: Easy parking. Lovely oldy worldly pub. Bank Holiday very sunny weekend and it had a nice ambience in the place. Our room bathroom was very clean.
Negative: The main thoroughfare was very tired looking and stained carpets everywhere. It had a bad 'off fish' smell in the bar area for most of the evening. We were meeting friends who we haven't seen for a long time and were relaxing in the lounge area with a few post drinks but were told at 11am that we had to go to our bedrooms now as staff were leaving and all the lights were being switched off! Dinner was very nice but breakfast was a disappointed. I asked for the avocada smashed on to toast dish and you couldn't have put a thinner layer of avocado if it had been marmite. It was a very warm night so we had the little windows open and a provided very noisy large fan. We were woken in the morning at 7am to a roaring sound like a dustbin truck to find that it was the kitchen flue vent/chimney right outside our window on the roof.
Summary: Tired and needs a big upgrade especially on the main area carpets! Needs investment!

Positive: Everything. We have stayed before and it is consistently good. However, Amanda or should I say Miss Rabbit is a wonderful asset to the team. Nothing is too much trouble and everything is done with humour and a big smile. She made our stay brilliant. We named her Miss Rabbit because just like Miss Rabbit in Peppa Pig she literally seems to be everywhere, doing everything. What a star!
Negative: Nothing other than we had to leave.

Negative: Comfortable enough, but rooms are quite noisy. Creaking floorboards, banging doors from other guest rooms, traffic noise.

Positive: Room was very nice, as was the location. Nice breakfast in the morning too. Minor issues we had were handled quickly. Staff were lovely.
Negative: Latest check in being at 10pm wasn’t great, but being as this is essentially a pub it was understandable.
