Positive: This is an historical hotel right in the heart of Alpine. The lobby is beautiful; we wish they had had the fire on, however.

Negative: Things have been allowed to get a bit dingy. For example, the tub looks a little bit gray. I realize it wasn’t dirt, the enamel is just worn. There were chips in the paint and varnish. The restaurant is completely closed, they have a bar in the lobby, which looked nice, but it was supposed to stay open till nine, but it actually closed before 8:30 PM on a Saturday night.

Summary: Historic hotel that still has some charm, but needs just a bit of work.

Positive: The room was large and we also had a fridge which is a bonus. The bed was comfortable. It has a great lobby. We did have issues with hot water during our stay but were compensated without me having to ask . The people on reception were very helpful regarding the issue, so on that basis, I won't leave negative feedback as my issue was resolved. Good and prompt customer service outweighed the issue . (I have, however, mentioned it because it happened and feel my review should be honest.) Problems can happen, but ten out of ten for a quick resolution.

Negative: Hot water issues, but we were also compensated for this, so the issue was resolved. Although originally a negative, it turned out positive.

Negative: Trains that are coming by at night at least 6x per night. Loud honking of the trains just in front of your room. Very noisy, even with earplugs. No breakfast.
