You will love the peaceful and serene setting the Keeper of the Valley offers. With 4 large bedrooms in a 2400 sq ft one level home, everyone sleeps in comfort! Several sitting and gathering areas furnished with top quality furnishing such as Pottery Barn, Lane, Lazy Boy, Lexington and Ethan Allen. There are 2 king sized beds, 2 queens, and 2 queen sized log futons with 8 inch thick mattresses. The traditional beds have quality pillow top mattresses with high quality sheets and down comforters ready for you to snuggle in. The home has separate thermostats and is air conditioned.
The views here are incredible. Mountain vistas on all sides, and the acreage is home to many birds, deer and elk. There is a traeger grill, outdoor picnic and seating as well as a nice fire pit area and tennis court ready for your use. Year round creek and pasture available for horses. We now have satellite TV and WiFi! We are strictly pet free for cleanliness!
There is a full kitchen as well as a stocked breakfast bar with coffees, teas, and cocoa, as well as a french press. The lodge is decorated with the outdoor theme of the area complete with an electric fireplace with see through flame.
The parking area is paved and access is easy off Old Wingville Road. Enjoy the peace and beauty of the country, yet only 4 miles from Baker City and all it's amenities. 30 min to Anthony Lakes for downhill and cross country skiing, hiking or sight seeing. Summary: This home and yard are beautiful. We had a family gathering of 16 and had a great time and enjoyed the house and outdoor area. We will definitely book this again when we are in the area.

Summary: We had a great stay here with Laurie as our host. we had a dozen people staying here and it worked out well, was not crowded at all with two exceptions: The kitchen and the shower. When we had read reviews that mentioned the kitchen was small... well, it's smaller than you think. it's not really a kitchen. it's a kitchenette with room for two people only. Like others we made it work but it did add to the difficulty in preparing meals for a group our size. if it was just a few people then it is entirely functionable. The fridge is quite large and pretty new but does not have ice so you will need to pick up a bag if you want ice, not a biggie. As for the bathrooms... it only has two and only one of them has a shower. Again we made this work and it did not hamper our fun. when we saw that it had two bathrooms and slept 12 people we assumed that it would have two showers. The other odd thing is the front doors... they are commercial all glass doors like you would find in a public off building. Not too big of a deal because the house is pretty remote but anyone in the yard or on the porch can see straight into the livingroom and there are no blinds or way to stop this from happening. again, not a biggie for us but we had not seen this mentioned in any of the other reviews and am only mentioning these things so that future guest are fully aware of what might be bothersome for some people. we spent three days skiing up at Anthony Lakes and it took about 40 minutes

Summary: The house is quite large and worked perfect for our 3 different family group. It was very clean and while the kitchen is small it is very functional and the dining room and butcher block made up for the small counter space. We enjoyed the back deck watching the sunset while the kids played pickleball or ran around the yard. We are country kids at heart so we also enjoy the cows that would come up to feed each morning. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful country setting that has easy access to Sumpter, Anthony Lakes and Baker City.

Summary: What a find! Baker is no thriving metropolis, by any means, however, you couldn’t ask for a more beautiful and peaceful place to stay! No more than 10 minutes outside Baker. The outdoors is everything you could want in a wonderful ranch town. The grounds are immaculate, beautiful! Every morning and evening Cattle follow each other to a fenced area just outside the backyard to feed and enjoy some shade. Then they lead themselves out to another pasture. The back deck is small, but good enough for a peaceful time reading or enjoying some sunshine. At night, a GREAT place for stargazing! Inside the house has 4 very comfortable beds in large, separate bedrooms and 2 futons (we never used) in kind of a main living area. Considering there is only one shower, we would recommend no more than maybe 8 people. There are no towel racks in the bathrooms, which would be a nice addition. The kitchen is small, and almost office-like, but nice. The nice big table is great for family meals or games. The A/C helps during the hot days. There were no instructions for TV use or how they would like us to leave the house upon checkout, which would have been helpful. We just cleaned up as best we could. Overall, a VERY nice place and HIGHLY recommended.

Summary: Arrived on a Thursday night, there is a huge shop next to the house, owners in and out of it everyday early in the morning waking up the guests. There is a creek but no access to it. On Saturday. Which was my 50th Birthday their big bulldog was out in the field rounding up their cattle, while we were sitting on the back deck their dog started barking for an hour In a half. The owner didn't even know their dog was at the rental. I had 6 adults and my 4 month old grand daughter, and the owner messaged me reminding me that there were to only have 6 adults. In which I had. Kinda felt like we were being babysat and watched all the time we were there. The house itself is spacious, comfy beds and pillows. Lots of flying bugs inside the house.
