Positive: A fabulously designed property that is dramatic (in a good way) but also comfortable, practical, clean and quiet. Friendly and helpful hosts who live next door but do not interfere in any way. A generous welcome pack. Private parking is provided immediately outside the property, and from the property there is good access to this part of North Devon

Negative: The step access to the property won't suit the infirm, but if that isn't an issue it gives a property with great views over the town. Realistically you need to drive into Ilfracombe itself (which has some great restaurants) as the walk back uphill is demanding!

Positive: We spent 8 nights at this wonderful property and cannot speak more highly of the accommodation and the hosts. They have created such a beautiful holiday home - so thoughtfully designed, built, furnished and maintained to a very high standard. The cleaning deserves a special mention too - The Kite is spotlessly clean with genuine attention to detail. Jane and Noel are excellent hosts offering a warm welcome, the most fantastic array of welcome treats and the reassurance of help and support if needed; all without being intrusive. We did need assistance with something (unrelated to the property) and Jane was kind and helpful which was really appreciated. There are several seating areas to relax and enjoy the outdoor space and the views of the Torrs, town and sea are stunning - we never tired of looking at them and look forward to staying again. We had such a lovely time at The Kite - it truly felt like a very special home from home.

Negative: We loved everything about The Kite, though anyone with mobility issues may want to consider there are a number of steps leading up to the property.

Positive: The property and facilities were great. The Kite was clean, spacious and nicely decorated through-out. Our hosts were very friendly and they never hesitated to help if we had a question. They left us a wonderful, well-thought out welcome package upon arrival which made us feel instantly at home. In addition the property had everything you need in terms of those extra things that not all holidays home have, such as dishwasher tablets, toilet paper, salt and pepper etc...so we could relax and not worry about having to go shopping!

Negative: For us the location wasn't great and we struggled to find somewhere decent to eat or have a drink that was within walking distance. The Thatched Inn was the closet we found, which was about a 25 minute walk up and and down some tough hills!! That said however, you could drive to some lovely beaches / pubs within about 15-20 minutes, so it just depends on what you are looking for.
