Positive: The Lantern is truly fabulous and despite all of the photos and details on the listing it really did surpass all of our expectations and was the most perfect cottage. There is a true sense of calm and relaxation throughout, with stunning interior decor alongside being perfectly situation for a short stroll into the centre of Bourton-On-The-Water.
Negative: Location - Brilliant! We stayed with our dog and 1 year old daughter so had originally been apprehensive about how ‘buggy friendly’ the walk into the main high street area would be. We had nothing to be concerned about. The Lantern is perfectly located, out the gate, cross the road and a clear smooth pavement walk all the way in (approx 8 mins). Cottage Facilities - Everything you could need. Wonderfully comfortable beds in all 3 rooms, a cosy and inviting living room and a practical, well equipped kitchen dining space. Parking - The driveway is a real plus as parking in the centre of Bourton-On-The-Water is limited to say the least! We found this out upon our 11am arrival for an early lunch reservation ahead of check-in. Once we got to the cottage we didn’t need to use the car once as everything we needed was in walking distance but having the secure driveway was a real plus, or if you have additional cars the pay and display car-park is just a minute or twos walk which was perfectly safe and where my parents parked and left their car for our 3 night stay.
Summary: The perfect Cotswolds cottage!

Positive: The photos don't do this cottage justice. Beautiful, comfortable rooms, very tastefully decorated and in walking distance to the village centre. Great eateries nearby - Mousetrap Inn (posh pub) and Smiths (for gourmet burgers). Great, responsive host. Highly recommend.

Positive: The owner Tim was amazing in responding to messages prior to travel with regard to location. The property was set over three floors. It was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Didn’t want for anything more. It was a very cosy homely stay. Just wish we could’ve stayed longer. Definitely due a revisit. Thanks to wonderful hosts Tim and Nat
