Positive: It was in a good location and beds were comfortable. The rooms were clean and more spacious than some other local hotels. The hotel was quiet at night and I like that you use a keycard to enter the hotel too. I have a young daughter and knowing only paying customers can enter the building made the hotel feel safer.

Negative: Two small observations only for constructive feedback. The hallway up the first stairs smelt very strongly of dogs. This completely disappeared after going through the first doorway on the top of the stairs, where it smelt like it had recently been cleaned (this was a relief, as walking through that door to a clean smell made me feel that the room would be nice and clean after all). The stairs carpet looks like it might be the culprit, as it is old and worn out. As a first time visitor, it was very noticeable, but maybe the staff cannot smell it, being there all the time? The staff were very, very efficient -maybe a tad too much, as I felt a bit on edge. A bit more of a relaxed atmosphere on arrival would have felt friendlier and more welcoming for me personally. I’d just drove for 4 hours straight and didn’t really want to be rushed along without warm welcome and chance to ask questions. I did feel a little like my questions about parking were a bit annoying to them because there seemed to be a set arrival conversation, that I was supposed to just be quiet and listen too. The road outside the hotel has double yellow lines and there are no signs outside the hotel to say you can unload for 10mins. Therefore, parking was obviously my first question when I left my car, but it seemed inconvenient for me to ask. I would imagine I’m not the only person to ask about this. Maybe a sign outside the hotel would help with this? I knew there was a carpark that I had to book on arrival, but the information was vague on the email/booking. When you arrive, you can’t actually see the carpark from the hotel, you are just met with double yellow lines - so that prompted me to ask questions. Otherwise the stay was good, the staff were happy to provide extra tea and milk when we asked them, which was nice. I would book again for the location, value, front door security and comfortable sleep. I now know what to expect on arrival too with my car, so that will help a lot.
