Positive: House is beautiful with amazing pictures, making it feel like a home. Pool and hot tub heat, location fantastic.
Negative: Problem with towels which owner managed to sort on day 3. More cutlery would be good if 8 plus staying. Description could be better. Adertised as 5 bed with pictures of garden room but on arrival told there is an extra charge for its use!
Summary: Excellent apart from issues with towels due to owner being out of the country

Positive: Location fine - we were self catering. We were near shops for food, papers, a great pub called The Cross Keys, offering excellent home cooked food and good beer, other restaurants, a marvellous Indian take-away called the "New Akash" and even a Roald Dahl museum and story centre. We found good jogging routes, watercolour painting views and pleasant walks in lovely surrounding countryside.
Negative: In one of the bedrooms a chair arm was broken and the shower and hose were confusing to use but only at first. The third bedroom was a little small for two adults, I think sleeping six adults is possible but only at a push, we managed, but one bedroom due to its size was less comfortable. Some of the pool side chairs were uncomfortable and sun loungers were jaded and poor.
Summary: A wonderful house full of thespian treasures from David Hemmings and run expertly by his son, Nolan.
