Summary: Staff very friendly helpful and efficient. The decor and some of the fixtures and fittings seem tired eg the curtains in the bedroom were all torn.

Summary: We stayed in a deluxe room, it was warm & clean. The bed was enormous & very comfortable. Some parts of the hotel was looking tired & could do with a paint up & the carpet in places was threadbare. The two male staff members working on reception & at breakfast were fantastic & were very helpful.

Summary: Lovely old building , lovely friendly staff and great breakfast - The hotel is ‘tired’ and could do with some investment to get it up to scratch as Rye is wonderful town and could easily take another high end hotel … you would get your investment back in no time

Summary: Perfect location in rye. Our room looked over the car park. Convenient car parking facilities. Breakfast was gorgeous - I selected from the menu a full English which was fabulously cooked. Kind male staff member very professional. We were refused early check in and told to sit for a minute - I believe the cleaner informed the receptionist who appeared new not to check us in until 15pm and then we were told the room was not ready - the new receptionist then proceeded to check in another couple 5 minutes behind us when she was on her own. Cleaning in the bathroom and general bedroom was lacking - shower did not drain - cleaner in the reception area acts like the owner of the property. Did not feel like she cared - stated another room on the same level had the same issue - I felt like getting a long thin brush and doing it myself but why should I. She stated she will inform the facilities department. I could not wash my hair or the bathroom would overflow. During the breakfast there was an issue with people who had not checked in the day before on the system and the cleaner was dissing the new receptionist colleague stated she had all day to do it. She seemed very annoyed with it. Hierarchy and staff roll over likely an issue in this place. It did the job for the one night.
