The Mellor House 2 is lovely four-unit apartment building offering short-term, long-term, and corporate housing. It is accessible to downtown Pittsburgh, Oakland, Squirrel Hill, and the eastern suburbs. On-street parking is available, and the bus stop is located only two blocks away.
Spacious and bright, these beautifully restored and updated, fully furnished and tastefully decorated apartments include one bedroom, a spacious living room, eat-in kitchen and newly renovated bathroom. Free WiFi is included.
As you enter the apartment from the common area, the first room to your right is a private bathroom. The bathroom has a tub, shower head with hand sprayer, a small pedestal sink with a mirror above, and toilet. A hairdryer and additional towels are stored on shelves within the bathroom, for your use.
The next room you enter is the large kitchen. There is a refrigerator, gas stove, microwave oven and dishwasher, as well as an electric washer/dryer combination. The kitchen is fully equipped with towels, hot pads, pots and pans, dishes, glassware and flatware along with small appliances.
Beyond the kitchen lies the living room. It is furnished with a new sofa, comfy reclining chair, side tables and lighting. A 36″ Vizio smart television has been provided for your viewing needs; use of an HDMI cable is required to connect to a computer.
The last room is the bedroom, which features a comfortable, queen size bed with ‘Orthopedic Pillow Top’ mattress and box springs. There is a closet for storage and clothes, a three drawer dresser, bedside tables and lamps.
Guests have access to a comfortable sitting area on the front porch, as well as a small deck behind each apartment.

Summary: The area is very convenient and quiet. The apartment is very clean and cozy. All around great place, would recommend to friends and family.

Summary: I rented the top unit in Mellor House 2 for six days while visiting friends and relatives in Pittsburgh. For me it was a convenient, central location, with easy access to the freeway. Katherine was very helpful in giving tips on nearby stores and restaurants and describing the local community. (Because I am a native of Munhall/Homestead across the river, I did not need information about the city.) The apartment was immaculately clean and beautifully furnished with about everything one would need. Two of my friends came over for dinner, and they were very impressed with the light, airy apartment and the fantastic view from the back deck. I jokingly called it "the penthouse" because it's the top unit of a 1910 apartment building, a tall, skinny brick building with one flat per floor. It may seem a bit quirky to some, but it's a fairly common Pittsburgh style.The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. The only negative for me was having to haul luggage, groceries, etc. up to the third floor via the staircase--but it kept me in shape for navigating those Pittsburgh hills. I would definitely stay there again.
