Weekends at the Mill House in the winter are all about cozy dinners with a huge open fireplace in the family room, cozy bedrooms, and places to be together and/or find a space to be by yourself and read.
In the summer, its about the cool pool in the ruins of the mill, or splashing in Pantherskin Creek. Upperville has some great new offerings - Hunters Head Tavern continues to be a wonderful place for dinner, and in the center of the village, Bluewater Kitchen has opened with wonderful farm to table grocery items and ready to go pick up dinners. Slaters Run Winery has opened a beautiful new tasting room and deck at the Upperville winery, AND Upperville Farm and Feed has opened across the street and features fresh, local produce and farm eggs, and will soon source local meats. So much happening in the tiny village of Upperville!

Summary: I believe that this was our 7th Fall trip to the Mill House! I've lost count. I'm not sure who loves it the most, the adults or the grandchildren. It has everything that we love: cozy accommodations, huge fireplace, fire pit for hot dogs and smores, babbling creek, magnificent views, and I CANNOT forget the bamboo forest! The children were searching for pandas. :) The property is 9 miles from the town of Middleburg and we love it as well. Great coffee shop (breakfast), bookstore, toy store! Many wineries close by. We are looking forward to next year!

Summary: Constance the host was really accomodating. I appreciated her prompt responses to any of my questions when booking and her recommendations on things to do in the area. Our family gathered for a 75th birthday celebration. There were 7 adults - it was a lovely weekend. The Mill House was a perfect location! Plenty of comfortable seating in the main area and a table to fit all of us! Other comfortable seating areas and the bedrooms were all very comfortable. The kitchens (both of them) were good sized and easy for several of us to work in at once preparing meals. The weather was great in early Oct, we enjoyed an evening by the firepit in the yard. Upperville and Middleburg were very quaint towns, we enjoyed exploring them a bit. We golfed at nearby Raspberry Falls and Bull Run golf courses, and enjoyed the VA state Arboretum another day. We had dinner one eve on the patio of at the Tavern in Upperville (very nice atmosphere, staff and food was very good) and another evening at Harriman's at Salamander Resort (very convenient and would highly recommend for a special dinner). If we want a get-away in this area again we would definately return to the Mill House.

Summary: The house and property met all expectations of the wedding party especially the close proximity of the historic house where the bridal party stayed. The host, Constance was superb throughout this process. The property was very clean and spacious for the Groomsmen and their significant others.

Summary: The Mill House is a wonderful property. It was perfect for three generations to gather with lots of living space both indoors and out. We enjoyed swimming in the pool, playing games, grilling outside and eating on the screened in porch. Unfortunately, we weren’t there long enough to enjoy all the amenities. Constance was warm and welcoming and Upperville is a gem!

Summary: Set back off the road this beautiful property was perfect for our family. The house is large and well equipped. Beautiful pool near a babbling brook in the back yard. A fire pit is also in the backyard and the host left s’mores fixing which was a nice touch!
