In the heart of the Minervois, between sea and mountain, the mill of Trédos was built around 1650 on the ruins of a Roman temple. a magnificent river enamelled with cascades flows next to the mill, it winds between the mountains where the oaks-green mix with the scrubland; the water is fresh and pure and the bathing invigorating for those who do not fear a temperature of 16 degrees! the place is surrounded by nature and 2 km from any home! The pool rises to 20-21 degrees :)
nature is generous, flowers, scents of lavender, thyme and other southern plants, butterflies, cicadas, a pure starry sky ..., everything is there to make your stay the most enjoyable.
All the ingredients are there to meet, recharge, reconnect with nature and the essential values, ... Alone, with two or with family!
The exhibition is west and the view is on the mountains or garrigue, green oaks and other Mediterranean vegetation share the territory.
A river with extremely pure water flows in the middle of the field which adjoins the some 10 ha.
La Bergerie has a maximum capacity of 4 people with a large bed for couples and a sofa bed.
There is also a private terrace with a stone BBQ.
A natural swimming pool, without addition of products, fed by the water of the river but with the very fresh water (max. 20-21 degrees) is accessible during the months of July and August.
Around the Mill, you can walk on a green path and reach the village of Vélieux (35 min) or go back to the source (20 min) or go to "the adventure", in the forest or along the river and who knows how to choose a place to picnic under a centenary tree, ... at the foot of the waterfall, in a clearing ...

Summary: This mini resort is in the heart of Occitane/ South France, beautiful, silent, with pool, traditional buildings in a small valley on terraces and with own space around the house - surrounding an old mill. Thierry, the owner and the creators around him are wonderful people speaking French and some also English. A beautiful place. Fully recommended.

Summary: There are simply no words to express our stay, but I'll give it a try. It is a little piece of heaven in a country that is already amazing! Thierry, our host, was très, très gentil, and really made our stay memorable. The location is very private, the accommodation nestled in the valley along a lovely river that cascades through the property. Thierry has an eye for design, and has created a little world of rock gardens, trees, stonework, and paths running throughout. The accommodation was perfect for my husband and I, we had everything we needed in our own little private stone house perched atop the hill. Blissful, memorable, and we will be back! Many thanks for creating such a lovely piece of paradise for others to share and enjoy! Nancy and David

Summary: I fell in love with the photos of le Moulin de Tredos, but assumed the reality wouldn't quite match up. WRONG - it was better! The valley in which the gite nestles is remote and private; about half a mile off a very quiet road down a stony track. The three residential buildings (the owner's house and two gites) are far enough apart to allow privacy for all whilst occupants can still enjoy all the joys of the valley. These include: - bubbling, shallow river - great for paddling and cooling down hot dogs - natural "swimming pool" - more of a plunge pool really but very refreshing after a few hours in the sun - walking/cycling tracks through the woods - numerous picnic spots The owner, Thierry, was in residence during the first week of our visit with his two children, and was totally charming and very helpful. He treated us like old friends, rather than the irritating middle-aged English couple with two noisy and disobedient dogs we actually are! Thierry encouraged us to use all the outside spaces around the valley, even those which appeared to be his private garden areas. He introduced us to his friends and recommended places to visit; gave us a contact number for an excellent vet and provided everything we asked for with enthusiasm. Thierry speaks good English and, being Belgian, his French is easier to understand than many of the locals! The gite itself is quite small and basic, but has everything you need. It is a very steep climb so not really suitable for people who aren't able bodied. The bed is a torture rack, but Thierry promises a new one for 2013...! The outside areas are great for soaking up the sun, scenery and sounds of the peaceful and beautiful valley, and totally private. Wood is provided for the magnificent BBQ. The surrounding area has far more to do than we could fit into a year, let alone two weeks. The Languedoc region is vineyard city, with nearly all chateaux and domaines offering tastings on demand. There are dozens of farms offering natural produce, restaurants and cafes at every turn, all kinds of exhibitions and museums from pre-historic man to Airbus. The Cathar Trail is on the doorstep, beaches less than an hour away and you can see the Pyrenees in the distance. The elephant in the room is the scenery - everywhere you go are breathtaking views of magnificent mountains, gorges with crystal clear rivers, picturesque ancient villages, clear lakes teaming with fish. And vineyards of course.
