Wonderful custom-built Montana pine log home with huge covered porch. This home is secluded on a dead-end street and backs up to a nature preserve in the backyard. Cozy up to a natural wood-burning fireplace with a cultured stone hearth. Cook for your whole family in our large kitchen.

10 minutes to downtown shops and dining
15 minutes to Otsego Resort, skiing and golf
19 minutes to Treetops, skiing, and golf
20 minutes to Boyne Mountain, skiing and golf
**Additional rules**
We run on septic. Please only flush toilet paper and NOTHING else. If the septic clogs during your stay, a fee may be assessed to have a plumber come make repairs.
Because this home backs up to the forest, there is a chance that wildlife may wander into the yard, this included black bears. Please do not feed any animals or leave any trash outside as it will encourage them to return.

Summary: The property is very unique and very nice. Unlike some other VRBO homes we have tried - the Notting Bear was exactly like how it looked on their website... very well kept. The hosts were very helpful all along and we also appreciated all of the 'extras' we found there. (like Shampoo, laundry detergent, coffee, all kind of different plates, glasses, utensils, etc). We would absolutely stay there again if we ever make it back to northern Michigan !

Summary: Booked this location for a weekend getaway for my fathers birthday. We had 9 adults, all of whom were able to have a bed and space with their spouses. The kitchen area was well stocked for cooking and prepping food, the grill worked well, and the layout of the home gave enough space to spread out and enjoy the area. The property managers were quick to communicate and helped me by accommodating a few smaller requests which was greatly appreciated. Location wise you definitely feel like you are a bit remote, there are neighbors nearby but a little more out of sight out of mind compared to some other locations I have stayed at. The city is conveniently close in case you need to run into town to grab anything of need. One and only downside was the no outdoor bonfires allowed. Check in and out was convenient and simple, I would definitely stay again if the price is right.
