Summary: Generally nice. Rooms/bathroom very dark - not a single overhead light in the entire room (and I was in their largest suite.) I suppose they hadn’t considered that many women wear make up and need light for that. Impossible to do my make-up (even in the morning) as bathroom too dark, no lighting on desk, no plug on desk for mirror.

Summary: We enjoy staying at the Padre when visiting family in Bakersfield. It’s a Bakersfield institution, and dog friendly. The rooms are big and comfortable.

Summary: Beautiful and historic property. Loved the decor through. Great hallways and the room was amazing! Comfy bed, large bathroom, gorgeous windows. Very clean. All staff encountered were very friendly. On site bar was fab - great staff drinks ambience. Perefect stay and a true gem of Bakersfield !
