Summary: A great place for our whole family to go. Enjoyed the basketball court where the kids could play while we cooked on the outdoor grill and enjoyed the weather. Lenard was very helpful with local information and property questions. Enjoyed our stay.

Summary: The ‘Pearl’ villa has the most amazing views with the most gorgeous sunsets every evening! The villa is lovely and spacious and very clean. The basketball court is a brilliant addition especially when you have 2 teenage sons! Lenard is a warm and welcoming host, nothing was too much trouble day or night. We come to Antigua most years and I certainly will not hesitate to book Donnell’s place again. Would highly recommend a stay at ‘The Beautiful Pearl’.

Summary: Can I just say, Wow! I’m a regular in Antigua, at least every 2 years I am here. I have family in Antigua and I’m familiar with it very much. I have never stayed in Old road as it’s a little further past bolands and my family are near town. From the moment I arrived, the communication was great. As entering the property it was like home. Cleanliness, safety, space, even had a laundry room which I love washing. Rooms were very spacious- great for families and friends. Mr Lenerd and his Wife were very friendly and reminded us if anything we needed he’s available. The Pearl had everything you needed from every crockery to utensils. It was very well equipped! It is very much a home to home. The views are amazing especially watching the sunset and sunrise and listening to the roosters and goats in the morning. We saw baby goats in the hills, my daughter enjoyed seeing them everyday. My son loved the BB court! The location was ok a bit further where I usually stay, so you do need a car to get around. Sometimes the Sat Nav will take me to Fig Tree road which is where the Zip line adventure park, but do avoid at night. You have a few beaches around 15-20 min drive. Darkwood, jolly beach and Frys beach are great beaches, town is around 30 min drive from The Pearl. They do have a few little supermarkets nearby, 12 min drive if you want to grab a few snacks. Overall it was a wonderful stay would definitely like to return. I would also recommend staying at The Pearl.

Summary: The property is very nicely maintained and is located at a beautiful place along the southern coast of the island with a nice beach and snorkeling area within view of the house from it's front porch and second-floor balcony. The location is also between the flat sandy beaches and restaurants along the western coast of the island and the more mountainous beaches, bays, coves and attractions on the east and southeast coasts. The house offers everything needed for a safe and pleasant stay, including a large washer and dryer set, and plenty of thoughtful extra conveniences for foreign visitors. Enough rooms and beds for a family of 5-6, with couches and futons for more, as well as an adequately appointed kitchen. No live over-the-air TV, but Smart TVs throughout capable of streaming everything, plus good Wi-Fi. The hot water heater went out the last 2 days of our stay, but trust that has been fixed. Nice peaceful community below the house with friendly neighbors and a steep driveway. Other than the hot water issue, no complaints from us at all, as we had a great stay, and take away nothing but excellent memories of the place and our stay.

Summary: This property is exactly as shown in the pictures, but better! The host family is divine. This property is in a more agricultural area with low tourism. Little activity is available without driving and this is exactly what we were looking for. You will enjoy the rainforest and Fig Tree Drive, which is a 10 min drive from the property. You will want to visit the zipline and the lovely tea house located on top of this drive. The beaches are almost private with nice snorkeling. South Coast Tours is a quick walk from the house, and they offer a wonderful canoe trip and Cades Reef dive/snorkel experience. Don't miss it! This is the best reef on the island. The home is spotless with all the amenities one would need. The kitchen is well stocked for preparing meals. There is a nice Epicurean grocery store 15 min away in Jolly Harbor. You will enjoy the gorgeous views of the ocean off the 3 divine porches. There is a grill and patio set right next to the basketball court. 1 large master suite and bathroom with walk in closet are on the 2nd floor with a nice washer and dryer. The main level offers 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, bath and living room. 1 bedroom is a twin set and the other is a queen. The bathrooms and showers are very nice. This was one of my most favorite vacations and the house is exceptional. Don't hesitate to stay here, it is safe and sound and very peaceful. We appreciated the wonderful and prompt attention to detail. Our hosts were very prompt and attentive to all our needs. Thank you, it was a pleasure to meet you.

Summary: We stayed in a number of locations in Antigua on this trip, but this was our favourite! It is not beachfront, so it is a car journey to beaches, but there are some really stunning beaches within a few minutes drive and parking is generally really easy. The villa has its own beach chairs, which were both easily portable and surprisingly comfortable, so you have the choice of finding your own tree and just putting your own chairs in its shade or renting beach umbrellas and loungers from someone like Trevor at Crabbe Hill Beach Rentals on Turners Beach. The villa is beautiful. It is very spacious and could easily sleep six, but because it is not beachfront, it actually compares favourably with beachfront properties for price and so we just had two people in our party and luxuriated in the extra space. The walk-in wardrobe in the master suite was wonderful and the laundry facilities with enormous and efficient washer and dryer made light work of our laundry. It was SO nice to arrive home after a long trip with hardly any washing to do! The view from the villa is just stunning. You could just sit on the balcony and gaze at it for hours … and in fact we often did! By Antiguan standards, there were very few problems at this villa with mosquitoes. Just use deet after 4pm and don’t be outside at actual dusk and you’ll be fine. I was hardly bitten at all here, and I’m always bitten! There are two balconies, both with cushioned rocking chairs. I had been a little nervous of this as my husband has fatigue issues and so I tend to choose properties with sun loungers on the balcony. However, the rocking chairs proved more relaxing for my husband than I had thought and so we didn’t feel the lack of sun loungers in the end. We really appreciated Lenard, the property manager, who lives in a separate house just down the hill a little and the other side of the basketball court. He and his wife made us feel very welcomed and told us that it was their pleasure to deal with any issues that would make us more comfortable. We had some confusion with the coffee machine and Lenard provided an explanation that made it work for us. There is no kettle in the kitchen, but the coffee machine can dispense hot water so that’s fine. If you want coffee that is better than instant, then you have to buy Keurig K-cups. You can get them from the Epicurean at Jolly Harbour. All in all, we highly recommend this villa as a great base for exploring.

Summary: What a beautiful home overlooking an expansive view of the southern waters off Antigua! The two verandas offer a spectacular 180-degree vista. We loved sitting outside and soaking up the magical ocean view. This new home has a spacious well-equipped kitchen, a dining room with a granite-topped table for 8, a living room with two couches, a laundry room, three beautiful bedrooms including an upstairs primary suite with its own balcony, en-suite bathroom and office. The ceilings are vaulted and timber-lined, just gorgeous. There are mini-split AC units on each floor. We only used the upstairs AC for sleeping as we enjoyed the mild 75-81 degree weather and remained very comfortable with most of the windows open to allow cross ventilation. The Pearl is nestled in the hillside of Old Road Village. There are both well-appointed homes and some smaller, rustic ones nearby. Many goats are wandering the immediate vicinity and you also may hear roosters, cows, and other animals nearby. The hosts have a beautiful flower and tropical garden below their home and the Pearl. We advise anyone to have a high clearance vehicle due to road conditions. Although there are street lights along the main roads, we don’t recommend driving at night because you may not be able to see the road edges or the numerous potholes and hazards. We did not have to use 4wd although some roads are steep. If you are familiar with driving on the left and on narrow roads with unexpected obstacles (cars parked on the road, pedestrians and animals), you will be fine. Internet was unusually good as the owner has installed a robust mesh system that will not only provide whole house wifi but will accommodate streaming services on the large Apple-focused tv's provided. The hosts are remarkable people who possess a wealth of knowledge about Antigua and Barbuda. The hosts live in an adjacent home sharing the driveway entrance. We arrived in the dark and the entire property was lit up to help us locate it and enter the premises. We really appreciated this consideration! Communication with owner Donnell was excellent. We found numerous lovely sandy beaches with aqua waters within driving distance of Old Road, especially in the direction toward Jolly Harbor. You will find a few stands to buy local fruits and have lunch around Morris Bay, too. We are adventurous seniors who enjoy world travel and experiencing local cultures. This was a great spot for us. We highly recommend it!
