Our property is set well back from a little-traveled road, leaving you in a sunny opening in the midst of a beautiful collection of soaring pines and firs. Neighbors cannot be seen, nor heard. The house overlooks Judd Creek from our large deck. The house is modern, but homey and warm with a large skylight over the open plan living room, dining room, and kitchen. The three bedrooms each look out to the gorgeous surrounding forest.
The house has three bedrooms, one with a king bed looking out through glass doors to the deck and the woods beyond. The second has a queen bed and a view of the front garden. The third is smaller, but also has a queen bed with a view of the woods.
The kitchen is new and features top of the line appliances, concrete countertops and cabinets by Henrybuilt. The living room features a raised hearth fireplace and new furniture. Both the living room and kitchen have walls of glass that look out on the deck and the woods beyond. We have a full glass tiled slate bathroom and a large soaking tub, which offers a beautiful view of the woods. The shower is also glass, offering a "bathing outdoors" experience.
There is a fire pit area with table and chairs, horseshoe pits in the middle of the lawn, a flower-covered gazebo for coffee in the am, and extensive lawns and garden surrounding the house. Pets are welcome and usually happy to roam the woods endlessly. A gentle path leads you down the bank to the creek, where a dip on a hot summer day can be fun. The deck is large, with a beautiful view overlooking the hillside and the creek and our birdwatching is unbeatable.
Our property is 5 acres total which includes several hiking trails around the property and down to Judd Creek. Guests have full and secluded access to the entire property as no one is living there at this time.

Our small island is bursting with activities and enthusiasm. Fine dining, fun shopping in artists' studios, artisanal products, local produce and farmer's markets are available year round. Vashon's many beaches, parks, trails and historic landmarks are close by and easy to find.
A famous island guide is available for private trips on foot or by kayak around the island.

Summary: It was a delight to stay deep in the woods, but with plenty of sun and the view and sound of Judd Creek making its way to Quartermaster Harbor. When we ate indoors, we saw song sparrow, swainson's thrush and robin gobbling down berries on the huckleberry at the picture window, and when we strolled the drive, we partook ourselves at the most lush bush I've seen. On our last night, through the giant skylight, we saw a great blue heron fly over the big skylight to roost. Lovely spot. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Summary: We loved this house! The property is gorgeous and so peaceful. The decor is beautiful, beds and linens are comfortable and the whole house is incredibly well stocked. There was not one thing that we needed. Such a cozy home to relax in and the property was so fun for our kids to explore! We will return for sure!

Summary: We loved our stay at the Zen House. The house is really peaceful with lots of natural light, wood and a relaxing aesthetic. The surrounding views are incredible and the photos don't do it justice. As soon as we arrived I felt a sense of calm and tranquility and it was the perfect getaway. And to top it off the owner was so nice and super communicative, the kitchen was well stocked and the bedding was really comfy. We cant wait to return!

Summary: The home was lovely, clean and well equipped. Landscaping was attractive. Lots of birds, squirrels and bats to entertain. Short drive to downtown and amenities. Property manager/cleaner lives on the Island and was very prompt to attend to any questions we had such as how to figure out the taps after 2 days of enduring a cold shower! Hopefully they will get labelled! Also a heads up that although it says there is plenty of room for RV, trailer, boat - there isn't. We had some very innovative and frustrating maneuvering to do each day to get our truck and 8 foot trailer out - just about thought we were stuck there - the long winding lane closely lined with big trees did not give the option of backing out! The creek sounded lovely but the trails were overgrown so we didn't make our way through the trails or down to the creek unfortunately. Definitely a lovely spot if you are looking for quiet and secluded.
