Positive: This is not a casual hotel, it's a museum. You contribute to the fund to preserve an historical monument. As such, there are some concessions to be made, but overall, it's a great experience. Parking is free and great, location is unbeatable for the AKG. Rooms are tall, quiet, and confortable. My air conditioning worked well, but the fan was a bit noisy.

Negative: You live on a campus near a psychiatric hospital, which could make some people uneasy. There were ants in my room, but I left blueberries on the desk. Once the blueberries were removed, the ants were gone. I did see a falcon with its prey on top of a car in the parking lot, so there's that. No mini refrigerator in the room. The dining room is small, and breakfast is not included. Despite the limited choices, food was good.

Positive: We had great service from Beau at the lounge who provided us with great information and great service. Love the historical rehabilitation and the information on the early inhabitants of the asylum. Bedroom had 20 foot ceilings and a very cozy feeling.

Negative: I would have liked a grab bar in the bathtub shower.

Summary: Loved the history and the renovations and would definitely stay here again.
