The River Ash Cottage is the perfect get-away for large families & groups looking to relax together and be one with the mountains. It's layout is great for entertaining on football game weekends, family reunions, or graduations and it's location is ideal for visitors of Virginia Tech, Radford University, and those wishing to explore all the New River Valley has to offer.

The River Ash Cottage is fully-furnished and has central heat & air. Bed linens & bath towels are provided. The full kitchen includes a dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, dishes, pots & pans, and utensils. The indoor dining room has a great view of the pasture and seats 6. The living room has beautiful views on three sides and, if you must, there is Wi-Fi TV. Please note that cell service can be tricky with carriers other than US Cellular & Verizon but you can hook to the Wi-fi calling.
The River Ash will sleep up to 8 comfortably in beds. Sleeping arrangements include 1 Queen bed in Rooms 1 & 2, 1 King bed in Room 3 (can also convert into 2 twin beds) & 2 Twin beds in Room 4.
While the inside is terrific, the outdoor space is amazing. Secluded and off the beaten path, surrounded by pine trees and pasture, you'll enjoy the sounds of nature and see more stars than you can count. What trip to the mountains is complete without s'mores & stories around the campfire? There is a fire-pit for you to enjoy and a charcoal grill. Private access to Walker Creek is just a jaunt down the foot-path through the field. The creek is great for fishing, tubing, kayaking and looking for other critters.

Summary: We were in town for our daughter's wedding. Could not have asked for better place to stay. This is our 3rd cabin we have booked with them and we will be back. Very peaceful and loved seeing all the nature out the windows and front porch. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Summary: The house and property was perfect for us (family of 4). Very clean and comfortable with space for kids to spread out. We enjoyed watching the deer and bunnies, playing in the creek and making smores over the fire. Host was very responsive when I had a question. Thank you for having us, we had a great time!

Summary: The setting was lovely for a Thanksgiving away from home. The house was perfect for our family. Great little cottage for a group. The kitchen could use another sheet pan and a Pyrex measuring cup. It has the basics covered though and some extras supplies that we didn’t expect; Cooking spray, salt and pepper, coffee and filters, trash bags, dish soap, sponges, and hand soap at all the sinks. Our kids enjoyed skipping rocks down by Walker Creek and walked up the dirt road through the pine forest. There is a nice stone ringed fire pit. Dismal Falls and Cascades Falls hikes are each about 30 min away, but worth it. The majority of our time we spent dirt biking at Kairos Resort in Glen Lyn. Such a beautiful area to drive in! Loved all the New River views.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Cabin was super clean and had a great layout. Large kitchen and family room that had everything we needed. Peaceful setting and fun to have a short walk to a creek for fishing, tubing or just skipping rocks. We did find the beds to be not the most comfortable for us (some too hard, some too soft) but it didn’t effect our stay at all. We loved our visit and would recommend this cabin to friends!

Summary: Our family was looking for a chance to enjoy summer outdoor activities away from the crowds. This was the perfect place. Near the water with tubes and kayaks for rent, easy access to hiking, lots of wildlife to view and big kitchen for meals. The online description gave me an idea of the extras to pack. This was a great family getaway for a long weekend!

Summary: This was a great cottage. Loved the 4br, 2bath layout. Porches and fire ring were very nice. The creek was very fun for 2 days using kayaks to explore a small section. We found all we needed at the Walmart in Pearisburg (10 minutes away). We did not have time or the best weather to explore the many local hikes. Our only complaint was that most of the beds were substandard to what we are used to with similar-quality rental properties. The support was lacking, and we (the parents) would have to figure out how to work this situation should we stay again.
