Positive: Since the resort was overbooked, we were moved to à stand alone house near the property. Wonderful upgrade. However, they asked us to move back to the resort the next day which wasn’t necessary. The new room was also great. The beach staff and porters were very helpful. The free bicycles were a delightful way to explore the area.
Negative: The restaurant associated with the resort was overpriced for the meal and drinks they offered.
Summary: Easy times at the beach in à quiet location.

Negative: This was our 3rd stay here. The attention to detail was not there compared to the first two times. The property went two days without a working ice machine for guest in JULY. All ice machines were down in both buildings at the same time. This seems like something that should never happen at a price point of $700+ per night. Only saw housekeeping once in 4 days on our stay. However, cart was parked outside our room every day. Just did not service room.

Positive: Very kind staff who went out of their way to provide me with the best room possible for me. Front desk went out of their way to ensure that I had a great stay and this was greatly appreciated and the reason that I will always make this my go to hotel in the OBX. Incredibly kind beach staff as well who were so very helpful to getting set up! Really a beautiful stay and made all the more wonderful by the great and kind staff.

Positive: The location was excellent. The staff was very helpful. Really enjoyed having the Sand Bar available on site.
Negative: Our room was right next to the lobby and the late night and early morning noise seemed excessive.

Negative: Only one restaurant was open for service in mid April. The food and the service there were great, but the lack of options was frustrating. Even the pool side service area was closed during our stay.
Summary: The pools are NOT heated, in April that means pool water is frigid.
