Positive: The staff were very professional whilst helping created a warm and friendly environment. The bar staff were bothered to present the products well. The food at dinner was outstanding.

Negative: Faultless.

Summary: Classic country pub, stone floors, real fire, well kept beer, very good food and kind staff.

Negative: Breakfast was poor. Despite asking for coffee several times we were told Cafetiers were in short supply. We did however see several left on empty tables.

Positive: The manager was really friendly and upgraded us which was a lovely surprise. We had stayed previously for a wedding and had a lovely time then so wanted to return. The food was lovely and breakfast was really tasty.

Positive: Loved the large lawned beer garden which was perfect for my two dogs. My room was exceptionally comfortable and spacious with quality furnishings. The food was delicious. Location was ideal for walks with or without pets. Short drive into Clitheroe.

Negative: My shower didn't work. Fortunately there was a bath. However, I do prefer to shower. I mentioned this on departure, the manager apologised. During breakfast there was music playing, a compilation of 60s,70s,80s etc. I thought it was too loud, certainly whilst having breakfast. My suggestion would be softer, quieter, possibly instrumental music playing in the background, if any needs to be played at all. I realise everyone has different tastes and may disagree.

Summary: Excellent, a delightful short break with my two dogs.
