Positive: This is our 2nd time staying at The Slate, and it didn't disappoint. it's a beautiful hotel and the grounds are perfection. Unfortunately this time we were put in the I wing, which is a little older than the A wing which is where we were placed on our trip last year. The rooms in I wing seem to be a little older and smaller, but still equally as beautiful with decor, comfort and luxury. We love the location, with the beach and village of Nai Yang straight out the back gates, and we loved the big breakfast buffet and the pool area. The Reception team were very helpful in helping secure us a late checkout this year, which was very helpful as we had a 9:45pm flight and it made the world of difference. It's a shame they couldn't confirm this upon our check-in three days earlier, but at least they found us a room and even though we paid for the late check-out hours, it was great that they could provide this as guests in their hotel - it makes a big difference before a long-haul flight to have a room/shower, re-pack etc. the hotel has strong Wifi, three pools to choose from, is in a great location, and the rooms are comfortable, and smell amazing - so much so we bought three vials of their room essential oils to take home with us. Little things to make our stay slightly better would be to provide more tea/coffee in the rooms, and to offer a pillow choice, as they only have one big large flat/floppy pillow on the beds and when I asked for other pillows they only had one other choice with was hard memory foam pillows - so that would have made our stay much better to have had a comfortable pillow. The bed was also a little old and wobbly and the mattress was a little old/flat - but the pillow would have made a world of difference. Other than that - it's a stunning hotel, so we will be back!

Negative: Would be great to have a pillow option other than the big Euro pillows on the beds. When i asked the staff to bring another pillow option, i was given a really full plump memory foam pillow - you don't seem to have something in between.

Positive: Arrived in Phuket with little notice after our flight experienced major delays. We booked the slate 5 hours before arriving and so glad we did. I didn’t want to leave . The location , the food , the staff and decor are all utterly beautiful and the service is fabulous. The staff went over and above to make us welcome. We travelled with a teenager who was able to have safe independence at the small beach village and our daughter of 3 loved it. Beautiful resort and can’t wait to come back

Negative: The beach is a public beach and really needs a bit of a clean up. This has no reflection on the hotel or staff but other beaches around Phuket are cleaner . Saying that we have since traveled down to kata. The beach is gorgeous but the service is nothing like the staff of the slate. I would pick the slate any day of the week

Positive: This is our 5th stay at the Slate, location to the airport is excellent, the staff are always amazing, the breakfast is great value & we always love the rooms

Negative: Only remark regarding the room would be the generator / AC unit outside was quite loud on this stay which is the only negative comment
