Summary: The location is very good. The bar and restaurant were very good. The pool was a bit overcrowded based upon club members and people with $65 per day passes to use the pool. The pulsating music all day long got to be annoying. For a place you pay about $700 per night, there is no parking. You have to carry all of your luggage up and down a narrow old staircase. The room walls are paper thin and very small. A few young women were in the next room and talking loud and laughing until 2am. I had to text the invisible staff so they could text the other guests. The pool is only open 10 am to 5pm in the middle of summer. They have a coffee bar but no milk or cream or sweetener. The pool towels are very thin and cheap. You can check in early or check out late for an additional 50 bucks or more. I had a good time and the on-site staff works hard but is not empowered to improve your stay.

Summary: The Lounge and Bar are both charming and well thought out, and the overall vibe of the place feels modern and intentional. The pool area is nicely done too—comfortable lounge chairs, and when the staff is attentive, it’s a great space to relax. But the staff is hit or miss. Some interactions were been warm and welcoming, but others felt flat-out dismissive. It’s a bit jarring when you’re paying a premium and don’t know whether you’ll be treated like a guest or an inconvenience. Then there’s the room—and this is where the real disappointment sets in. The Murphy bed, which might sound charming in theory, dominates the room (probably 12x12 at best). Once it’s pulled down, there’s little to no space left. There’s no desk, which in today’s world feels like a BIG oversight, if not outright shameful—especially at this price point. Not even a chair to sit in. You ARE either in your bed or standing. If you travel with more than a small carry-on, one bag ends up wedged next to the bed. Lighting? No individual bedside lamps, just general overhead lighting that doesn’t create any kind of relaxing or practical environment. It’s clear that form was chosen over function here. The bathroom does have a great shower, and I’ll give credit where it’s due there. But again, no counter space! Nowhere to set a toiletry bag. The minimalist sink may look nice in photos, but it’s frustrating to use in real life. Bottom line—The St.

Summary: The St. Laurent is a lovely boutique hotel. It is ideal for self-service style stays. There is a cupboard in the hallway accessible for guests with additional towels and toiletries - which is nice b/c you do not have to wait for someone to bring them to you. The restaruant on site was amazing and food delicious. The bar / lounge area was very comfortable and had a nice vibe. I will say that this hotel does not have an elevator so be prepared to walk up stairs (three levels max).

Summary: Under different circumstances this property would have been fine. We didn't realize the circumstances when we booked. We are a 90 year old couple who came to Asbury Park for granddaughter's wedding. The wedding began around 3:00 so we couldn't check in and it was 10:30 pm before we arrived to check in after driving around the block to find a parking space. Fortunately we didn't have too much luggage but then we had to carry everything up the steps. Thank goodness our daughter had a room on the 2nd floor which she traded for our room on the 3rd floor. We are used to having a complimentary breakfast at our hotel which was not presented at the St. Laurent. And I don't even want to talk about the ridiculous price.
