A beach lover's paradise boasting a sun-drenched beach with small dunes. We are tucked away from the hustle and bustle with a quick commute to the entire Chesapeake area.
Enjoy endless fun as you bask in the sun, go for a swim, make a sandcastle, fish from the shore or watch pods of migrating bottlenose dolphins dance in the air.
The cottage entrance begins with a temperature controlled enclosed front porch. Enjoy a recently updated kitchen sporting a bright and cheery paint scheme complimented by a butcher block breakfast bar.
The dining room provides a front row seat to spectacular sunrises each morning with a wide unobstructed view of the Chesapeake Bay's horizon. It is absolutely a breathtaking sight!
As you glide pass the breakfast bar, the room opens into a large well lit nautical themed living room. CA/CH keeps it nice and cool on hot summer days complimented by ceiling fans in every room.
The living room is furnished with a full-size sofa & loveseat with recliners & beautiful new wood plank flooring. New 50” Smart TV in LR w/high speed WI-FI to utilize your streaming services. YouTube tv also included.
Large utility room adjacent to the kitchen with loads of cabinets, W/D complimented by a menagerie of small kitchen appliances ( microwave, toaster oven, blender, Keurig, coffee pot etc.) & plenty of kitchenware. Both are generously stocked with supplies to jump start your stay.
The master bedroom is equipped with a comfy Queen size bed, 32" Smart TV, walk-in closet and a spacious full master bathroom with stand-up shower. The Middle room features a full size bed covered in a beautiful seashell quilt. The third room/children's room includes a set of twin beds, closet full of books and games, conveniently located next to the hall bathroom with a tub/shower combo.
We are pet friendly with prior approval on a case by case basis. No puppies or dangerous breeds accepted. We require a completed pet addendum and a $200 non-refundable pet fee for 1 pet & 250.00 for 2 pets (max of 2). Weight limit is 50lbs or less. Require picture of pet with pet addendum.

Seafood Lover's must visit Captain Ron's around the corner an iconic mainstay of our salty little town providing fresh seafood daily directly off the boats.
We accept reservations during the In-Season (Mid-May to Mid-September) from Sat to Sat only. During the Off-Season we require a 3-day minimum at reduced pricing. Check In is 330pm and check out is 1030am. Rates are for 6 people. $150.00 additional fee/each additional guest for a maximum of 2 additional guest.
All reservations require a completed rental contract with the house rules attached to your initial reservation and a picture ID returned to us within 72 hrs. of securing your booking.
We are strictly devoted to family- oriented vacations. We DO NOT entertain parties, weddings, reunions or large gatherings of any kind.

Summary: The white Whale was everything promised. If was an idea location and lovely just to sit on the deck and listen to the noise of the water. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

Summary: Property clean and as advertised. Location perfect with lovely neighbours. Please note, this is not a comment about the owners, this is about the property manager. The details stated we would receive access instructions 24 to 72 hours prior to our reservation. Having heard nothing 24 hours prior to our stay I posted a message on the VRBO message system. On the day of our departure from Washington to drive to property we still had heard nothing (Note the manager had been provided with 2 contact phone numbers for us). I then sent a text message to the contact number provided which was not responded to. I rang the number provided with no success and heard message stating that “Inbox was full and messages would not be received”. Consequently we set off from Washington with no certainty that our booking was secure and great doubts that we would be able to access the property. Just a bit worrying! Fortunately, we were able to contact VRBO, who were fantastic. They were able to obtain access instructions and set our minds at rest regarding the booking. Given our experience we expected contact from the manager to check all was ok and maybe an apology. Alas, nothing. My recommendation to the property owners (assuming they read this) would be to find an alternative manager to ensure your excellent property and prospective clients are given the attention and service they deserve.

Summary: We loved our stay at the white whale! Upon arrival, our first evening sunset provided cotton candy skies with a rainbow and lightening shows. Sunrises very were much enjoyed as well as early morning swims! Seashell hunting was plentiful. The private beach was immaculate. The waters were great for my 4-year-old grandson to learn how to boogie board and ride the waves, while we were not too far from VA Beach and my teenage daughters were able to venture off and experience the larger waves. Kayaking with dolphins was a huge success as the dolphins breached all the way out of the water, an amazing sight and so close. Fort Monroe was a great historical place to visit, so many stories to be told there. It only rained one day so we took advantage and paid a visit to the Air and Space Museum in Hampton. We tried to visit Cape Henry and the lighthouse, but they closed it down for the day when we arrived because of the high heat temperatures, so be sure to go earlier in the day. The carousel in Hampton was also a great landmark to visit. We dined at some great restaurants.....Surf Riders, Fullers Raw Bar and The Deadrise all provided excellent meals and service. The house was larger than expected and provided everything we needed, tons of towels and blankets, great water pressure, comfortable beds and great views from the house and the deck! It was so nice to just walk back to the house for a quick snack or lunch when spending the day on the beach! We will visit again!

Summary: The cottage is right on the beach in the Buckroe neighborhood of Hampton. The city has seen better days--restaurant options were limited but there were grocery stores nearby. The cottage had not been well cleaned before our arrival, and the house was in need of some basic maintenance, but overall, it was a good value for the beachfront location.

Summary: I rented for 2 weeks to see how I liked “living at the beach”! No surprise, I loved living at the beach. I have the ability to work remotely, so I brought my home office with me and thanks to fantastic internet, I was able to work without any issues. Access to the beach over the dune is easily navigated and the beach is beautiful and peaceful. There is no shortage of wind so bring your Shibumi or any other wind powered shade! You won’t be sorry. I started every morning on the beach, then on the deck and finished the evening the same way. The house is clean and comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need and the super cute little toaster oven was used daily. Everyone always wants to know about beds - perfectly comfortable and nice sheets. Plenty of towels… beach, bath, and kitchen Don’t pass on White Whale - it was wonderful!

Summary: I took my family of 4 and my two dogs. Such a cute place. Perfect for a family. The walk to the beach spoiled us. It was literally in your backyard. The local area is very quiet and quaint. There isn't a lot of attractions or a board walk but there are a few nice restaurants, a cidery (that we frequented often), and the public beach that was a literal walk up from our place. We are definitely coming back to this place. It was as advertised-a slice of paradise. My only complaint has nothing to do with this place but with VRBO-I can't get into my account to respond to the owners so I want them to know we took the trash out 😅

Summary: This charming beach house was very clean and well stocked. Amazing view of the water and sunrises from the rocking chair in the living room and the deck. Wonderful to sit on the private beach and watch the sailboats, dolphins, and ghost crabs. Great location for sight seeing in the area. We visited Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown, Fort Monroe, Norfolk and Virginia Beach. Neighbors are friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and go back!!
