Positive: Beatiful, spacious house. Bathroom is separated from the main building which some may find difficult - it was not an issue for us, just an added flavour. + Nature! Peace and quiet :) + Relaxing river sounds + Parking spots (few options just next to the building) + Amazing hosts! Their English is very good. They recommended great izakaya and even made a reservation for us. + Breakfasts 11/10, soo goooooood! + Best washing machine of our over 4 week visit to Japan :) + You can visit all of Shikoku by car from TOSAYAMA BASE

Positive: Beautiful location close to the river and mountains in an authentic old japanese house. Sweet, helpful and professional host couple. Lovely breakfast every morning prepared by the hostess. Took a swim in the river every day of our stay.

Positive: An old Japanese house, renovated little by little with a lot of love. The hosts are wonderful. They speak very good English and are very attentive. In the morning they come to the house to prepare you a homemade breakfast with fabulous local products. Staying there gives you as much peace and security as having a family member in Japan. On an excursion we had a problem with the rental car and they took care of us as if we were family. If you are passing by, do not hesitate to stay there.

Positive: Tosayama base is amazing. The house is comfortable and spacious, in a quiet area and natural setting. It’s well appointed with tatami rooms and kitchen, washer/dryer, etc. Akio and his family were delightful hosts - kind, super accommodating and helpful, and the breakfast provided was exceptional - it’s of the quality you might have from a professional chef. This was unexpected but amazing. I would gladly stay here every time I’m in Kochi in the future.

Positive: An old style Japanese house, which was exactly what we were looking for to experience. Amazing view on the garden, valley, and running river. The host was amazing, spoke very well English, and entertained us by bringing closer to us, current culture, and generation changes in Japan. The breakfast served was one of the best we had in Japan, maybe because it was more of what we are normally used to at home :) Thank you!
Negative: We would have enjoyed the house much more. However, the room we stayed in had at least 1 month layers of dust on the shelves, which was not great.

Positive: Tucked away, up in the mountains, with a view of the Kagami River. The property is spacious and comfortable, with a kitchen that is fully functional and equipped to cook in. The hosts were really lovely! Everything was locally or home made at breakfast…absolutely delicious!

Positive: The hosts were wonderful - so friendly and interesting. They speak excellent English and went out of their way to make our short stay as pleasant as possible. The property is an old style and quite simple but this was what we were expecting and liked so it was not a problem. Breakfast was excellent.

Positive: We had an amazing stay! It was unique, clean and everything we needed. Most wonderful hosts, we feel very lucky to have met them! The breakfast was deliciously homemade and enough to keep us full until after lunch. Especially the pancakes with the homemade jam were the best! Enough space for a family and near a beautiful river. Would recommend to everyone!
