Summary: everything at this hotel was excelent however we were put in a room at the top of very steep stairs thai i found unsafe for me to climb also we went during the heat wave so it was very hot as no aircon in room but there was a fan provided other than that i would recommend it

Summary: Excellent location. With just a few updates it could be outstanding. The bathroom needs some maintenance and tile grout. Best location if you want to be close to food and the colleges.

Summary: The Tower House is an undeniably quaint 17th century townhouse located smack dab in the middle of Oxford. Unless you want to pay four times the price to stay at one of the handful of higher-end chain hotels that are equally centrally-located, the location simply cannot be beat. Sure, it would benefit enormously from some fairly superficial and probably long-overdue updates, like new carpeting. But all the essential elements for a safe, convenient and reasonably-priced stay in central Oxford are there. The only thing I really wished they had done better was pre-arrival communication. Unlike a lot of other small properties that aren't staffed 24 hours a day, I received virtually no information from the Tower House prior to arrival. There is sign taped on a window providing a WhatsApp number to call if you need to contact someone, and once I figured out how to do that they were helpful enough, providing instructions for how I could store my luggage until check-in time. It would have been much easier, however, if I had received some sort of detailed message the day before my arrival making all those details clear. At least in my experience, it's that sort of careful forethought on the part of a proprietor about what it feels like to show up after fifteen hours of international travel to a locked door with no one about to welcome you that separates the okay but clearly informally run family operation from the character-filled boutique property..

Summary: Near the shops, but parking difficult and expensive. Kettle in the room could only be used on the floor as flex too short. Not as clean as would have liked.

Summary: Great, quirky little place in an excellent location. Don't expect a brand new hotel but for a very old town house it exceeded our expectaions.

Summary: Centrically located. Nobody at the reception when check-in so the instruction was given over the phone. We stayed the Yellow room and it was small and tilted which made me sick. It was dump and smelly.

Summary: The room did not have an additional safety lock in the door and did not have a shower (only a bath). Check-in was also difficult as there was nobody available when I arrived so I had to call and check in via phone.

Summary: Clearly needs some TLC to bring it back to standard, wall power sockets hanging loose, 'shower' is a 1 pint jug, door hooks unsecure. Generally just a bit tatty. And the bed has one of the most uncomfortable mattresses I've ever slept on.

Summary: Very convenient, central Oxford location in a quiet street. The room was very comfortable.
