Positive: The room was a good size, the beds were extremely comfortable and the air con worked well, given how it was we were very grateful for that! The staff on reception were lovely. The location is nice and quiet and good room to sit outside if you wanted to.
Negative: The furnishings are very tired and are in desperate need of updating. The TV system was old, at first glance you thought it offers netflix and amazon, but although the options are there on screen they are not offered by the hotel. You use an old sky remote to access the TV, all the writing on the remote has been worn off so it is a bit of a guessing game. The beds have a really scratch grey blanket on them, they do not cover the bed so not sure of their purpose as they are uncomfortable to sit on, look awful and make your legs itch, bearing in mind our trip was in the summer months. The breakfast, even though we paid we did not have it as the service was so slow and we ran out of time. It is self service for cereals, but for the hot breakfast you have to wait at a line of tables they have put across the room to form a barrier and tell them what you want and they will get it for you, but you cannot see the food and only one member of staff serving and a queue, very odd. The pool is nice, however they do not monitor the pool in the evening (we were not there during the day). Children have set hours to use the pool and are meant to be out by 7pm, so we went down late for a quiet swim and there were children there which would normally be ok, but they were jumping in the pool and running around screaming which made it impossible to swim, to put in context I was there with my older son so know what it is like to have children so not anti kids. The sauna is lovely but the handle on the door is metal, which therefore gets very hot, usually they are made of wood so you do not burn yourself. The hotel has so much potential but is really outdated and all the furnishings look tired and worn.
Summary: Not at the price we paid in it's current condition.
