Casa Vieques is situated on two hilltop acres with incredible sweeping views of the Caribbean and the surrounding meadows and hillsides. This is a nature lovers retreat with wild horses by day and awesome views of the Milky Way at night because of low light pollution. Some guests say they have never seen the Milk Way in their entire life until they stayed at Casa Vieques. If you are looking to relax and have a peaceful vacation Casa Vieques is the right choice.
Close to everything but you will feel like you have escaped when you are sitting on the private 50 ft balcony watching the wild horses and the Caribbean. Casa Vieques is only two miles from the quaint village of Esperanza and 7 miles from Isabel Segunda. You will be close to some of the best beaches on the island.
The construction of the home with one foot thick walls and foam insulation survived Hurricane Maria, a Category 5 Hurricane with no structural damage. Only a little paint was needed. Casa Vieques is in tip top shape,
The entire front of the house opens to ocean views with four 8 ft by 8 ft. doors. The open air design allows the steady trade winds to flow through the house for quiet comfort provided by nature.
Two Master suites are spacious with king size beds and wonderful open air showers that are very private . You will only need a sheet or light blanket to feel completely comfortable at night. You can get into the spirit of this escape listening to the gentle sounds of tree frogs, birds chirping and horses grazes on the hillside. Enjoy coffee in bed with a view. of the carribean.
The living area has comfortable teak furniture which includes four club chairs, couch, side tables and coffee table. The deck has six Adirondack chairs with side tables for outside sunning and enjoyment.
The kitchen is fully equipped with insulated glasses, pots and pans, full set of dishes, utensils, mixing bowls, chef knives and more. The refrigerator has an ice maker. There is also a coffee maker, toaster, gas cook top and combination microwave/convection oven. There is seating available on the piano bar and at a separate table for dining.
We also have beach chairs, beach towels and a well insulated cooler.

Summary: We love coming to this property! The best part is the amazing view! It’s quiet, convenient location to town, restaurants and beaches! We enjoy sitting on the deck and watching the horses in our front yard! It’s nice having a complete kitchen, 2 bedrooms/bathes, and new beach chairs! Perfect place to stay while on the island! 🏝️

Summary: The setting here is absolutely beautiful. The deck on the back of the house overlooks a big piece of land that is often occupied by horses, with a view of the ocean in the background. We spent hours there just watching the horses. It was set apart from the more populated parts of the island, so it felt like we were in our own personal paradise. The only problem is that it was very hot, and the ceiling fans didn't do much to alleviate the heat. It felt cool enough on the balcony, and if we opened all the back doors it was fairly cool, but only if you were near the open doors. There was a heat wave going on at the time so I realize these weren't normal circumstances, but some floor fans would've been quite helpful. Regardless, we would love to stay at this magical place again!

Summary: Staying at Casa Vieques was wonderful! Everything available to make you feel right at home. Spacious, with high ceilings and fans everywhere. Loved, loved the outdoor showers with a view of the ocean! Looked forward to coming back after a day on the beach to a cocktail on the large porch. Would definitely stay here again!

Summary: Everything about our stay was fantastic. Communication with Barb was excellent and prompt. The house was extremely comfortable, private, with excellent views.. Had the most comfortable beds and pillows. The towels were amazing, so soft. Internet was fast and reliable. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need. There is no oven but there is a convection microwave. I would certainly stay here again

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed the expansive view from the deck and inside the house. The deck is directly in the sun and becomes quite hot in the morning and afternoon. An umbrella table would provide protection and comfort. The umbrella could be cabled to the railing and house for wind protection. The evenings were fabulous! The 2 bedroom suites were perfect for us! The house has many ceiling fans to keep the air moving. The kitchen was well supplied and the ice maker a plus for a beach cooler. It was also nice to have a washer and dryer. Packing light is always the plan. It is a very quiet location. Watching and listening to the horses was so pleasant! Loved it and will return!

Summary: We visited Casa Vieques for the third time over New Year’s and into January. This was our first visit to the island after Hurricane Maria. The house was in great shape and still had all the amenities we have come to appreciate on previous visits. The location is fantastic, close to everything on the island, But so private that we felt like we were in our own world. The house is very clean and has wonderful doors that open the entire house to an incredible view of the Caribbean. Wild horses visit the property regularly and there is a watering trough available to them, and they will expect it to have water in it if you are sitting around on the veranda. The house is stocked with everything you need to enjoy the beaches. Towels, beach chairs, beach toys and coolers. The kitchen has everything you need to make a wonderful meal or just sandwiches for your beach trips. Also the house has a full size washer & dryer and they provide laundry soap too. The ice maker was especially appreciated, we never had to buy ice for the cooler. No A/C but it was not needed. Casa Vieques is situated on a hill that catches all the breezes and there are plenty of ceiling fans to help keep you cool. There is a very good internet connection that allows you to stay in touch. The restaurants and stores are open for business, and we had some wonderful & memorable meals all over Vieques. We found it easy to get around the island with our rental (get a jeep, avoid the golf carts) and the location of Casa Vieques made it easy to go anywhere anytime.

Summary: The house is open with a large terrace that faces the pasture and ocean further away. Horses graze each day with their egret friends. A hummingbird visits daily as well. The house is well equipped both for the beach and for cooking. The island is totally laid back which is why we love it, not to mention the gorgeous and numerous beaches! We will hopefully return for a third stay!

Summary: What you see on this listing is what you get. The house is clean, comfortable and well equipped. We stayed here with another couple for 10 days and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The living room furniture was comfortable for lounging and the beds were great. The set up for 2 couples was just perfect. We ate most of our breakfasts and lunches at the house as well as a few dinners and we had everything we needed to prepare and cook the meals even though there was no oven. The grill served us well. We enjoyed the horses roaming the backyard, not so much the trail rides coming through twice daily. We would stay here again.
