Summary: We couldn’t have asked for a lovelier spot for a restful AND active vacation on Kauai’s North Shore. The house was lovely and very comfortable for a family of four, the views from the expansive lanai were stellar, and the location was close to some great beaches. The kitchen was well outfitted with excellent knives, all of the necessary appliances, pots, and storage, and plenty of space for preparing meals. We didn’t use the grill, but it was in excellent condition. Even though the house has a long but easy staircase, there is great little elevator for taking heavy luggage, groceries, and tired people up and down. We didn’t take advantage of the beach chairs, umbrellas, and other outdoor/beach gear, but they seem to be nice and in good condition. The washer and dryer are very new and work well, and the air conditioning worked exceptionally well when we needed. The breeze was generally enough to keep us cool. The only reasons we could imagine anyone not choosing this property for a family vacation are (1) that it wouldn’t accommodate a larger family (there is 1 king, 1 queen, and 1 full foldout sofa), or (2) that the family would want to be within walking distance of downtown Hanalei. Otherwise, this is a terrific spot for a small family in a beautiful part of Hawai’i.

Summary: We couldn’t have wished for a more beautiful home, or in a more gorgeous location. Everything was perfect. An outdoor hottub is being added, which we hope to enjoy on a future visit!

Summary: This was a great stay for our family. The listing is definitely from a long time ago, and it’s not quite as fresh and new as the pictures show, but it’s still pretty great with easy access to beautiful beaches, and the management seemed very helpful. There are a couple of resident geckos, which we thoroughly enjoyed having there. My only complaint was the key to the sliding door. You just really have to come at it with calmness and not turn it too hard.

Summary: The house is in an amazing area on the island. For the price I was surprised to find the chair in the main living area was so worn there was actually holes in the fabric. And very disappointed that the cushions on the lanai furniture were so dirty that we had to remove the cushions to use the furniture outside. The house was very clean and we enjoyed the coffee and tea. Also happy to have paper towels and toilet paper provided along with shampoo, conditioner and lotion. We loved staying on the north shore.

Summary: Absolutely beautiful home and setting. Equipped with everything you might need. There's a reason this rental receives the highest praise. I'll add a few particulars that might be helpful. Open all the screen doors and windows when you arrive. The house is raised high above the tree line and will catch the refreshing trade winds all day and night. There is a very good restaurant/bar right across the street -- highly recommend it. Also across the street, just past the Hanalei Colony Resort, walk along Alealea Road to Camp Naue beach access trail and you will be at the Southern edge of Tunnels Beach in 20 minutes.

Summary: Great area that’s a little further away for the more populated area. Multiple fantastic beaches to choose from super close by. The house itself was super comfortable as well. Recommended.

Summary: This property is incredibly unique as the entire home inside and out is made of bamboo. The wonderful lanai that surrounds the home looks out amongst the treetops and both the lanai and the many sliding glass doors allow for the breeze to enter the home. We appreciated the comfortable beds, the easy walk to Kepuhi Point for rainbows, ocean breezes and amazing sunsets. As the far north of Kauai is my favorite spot on all the islands it was wonderful having easy access to Haena State Park, Ke'e Beach (need a permit to enter) and of course: Tunnels Beach! The ride to Hanalei Bay was easy and we took advantage of the quiet time during road closures to soak up the town of Hanalei like a local. Thank you for sharing your slice of paradise with us.
