Positive: The location of the property was good, being close to outside food establishments. Santee was the mid point of our travel destination.

Negative: I didn't realize that going through a "third party" to book the reservation would mean we would be treated as second class citizens by front desk personnel. My wife wasn't allowed to check us in because I had made the reservation. Then, I was told I couldn't get Hilton Honors credit because I booked with Booking.com. I doubt I will use Booking.com again due to these things. Breakfast was lame. Would it be asking too much for them to serve up some real eggs, maybe scrambled rather than something seemingly packaged and simply warmed up? The "sausage" was not much more than a poor excuse of a hot dog. The floor in our room was sticky. Folks on the floor above us could be heard walking around. The hotel backs up very close to another less desirable property, the Belmont. It's more of a motel rather than a hotel.

Summary: I think I will book directly next time we travel and not at a Tru property.

Positive: Great location right off of I-95, spacious clean room, and a nice little gym.

Negative: The room seemed like it was missing furniture. It’s large and looks like it should have a comfy chair, or small sofa in the empty space, but it had only a single desk chair. Not great if you just want to chill before getting into bed. Also the water in the pool was a greenish yellow, and I opened not to get in it. (Yuck)

Summary: Good for an overnight, but very spartan.
