Positive: This is a quiet, pleasant, and professionally run hotel equally distant between the historic city and downtown (train and bush taxi stations), with ATMs, grocery stores and restaurants in close walking distance (and a gendarmerie station across the street). I stayed five nights there. The staff was friendly, helpful and responsive. Pre-arrival messages were answered promptly, and they arranged for (professional) massages. The restaurant serves excellent and well-prepared food (breakfast, dinner). The generally quiet room was away from the street and faced a lower courtyard, and came with a large well-ventilated bathroom/shower. Tsara had excellent views of the historic district and royal rice paddies in the valley below. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it highly.

Positive: Colonial style hotel with atmosphere. Nice restaurant and a small garden. Walking distance to the old town.

Negative: The mattress was not comfortable (old). The towels were smelly and yellow. I think I paid for a larger room than the one I got, but I found out to late.

Positive: Fantastic property, fantastic food, fantastic owner and staff. Usually I’m hard to impress, but everything was perfect. Wish I could have stayed for more.

Positive: Lovely property, well located with a great view. Rooms are well decorated and bright. There is a nice fire in the main building where you can enjoy a drink after a long drive. We stayed in one of the large duplex rooms, fitting 3 children and 2 adults, each with its own bed.

Negative: Food was ok but could be improved.

Positive: The hotel has a very nice view over the city and is closely located to the old town. The colonial style house is really nice. The staff super friendly. And we had one of the best dinners and breakfasts in Madagascar. All of this at an attractive price level.

Positive: We got to stop in town accidetially because of a car repair. The guesthouse was the best that could Happen to us. Even on a day the guesthouse was closed, we were allowed to stay one extra day.
