This charming traditional Italian apartment is located on the 1st floor with its own small private balcony with flowers, it is tucked away on a quite street only 3 minutes from the busy main piazza.
The living room and the kitchen are both South east facing which allows the warm morning sun to shine through giving the early birds chance to soak it up while having breakfast while not disturbing late sleepers.
It has a spacious living room area with a dinning table that easly seats 4-6 when you just want to stay in enabling you to take advantage of the fully functional kitchen.

Summary: We had one week in Marta and there was nothing missing. At any time I would recommend this appartment! 100%. And also is the village with it's bars, restaurants, and the " lago di Bolsena".

Summary: We really enjoyed our week's stay in the lovely town of Marta.The apartment is very spacious, clean and well equipped. The location was a perfect base for day trips to explore the many historic towns in the surrounding countryside, there is so much to see. The town of Marta, on the beautiful Lake Bolsena, was a wonderful town to explore - friendly people and having great bakeries, delis and restaurants to check out. The owner Doreen was very helpful with the information she provided. Highly recommended.

Summary: Spacious, clean and well equipped flat located minutes from the lake in Marta. Flat is very well located being about an hour and a half north of Rome and about the same distance south of the attractions of Tuscany. I stayed in the flat for a month and it proved to be a very comfortable and convenient base to explore this very beautiful part of Italy. The landlady (or her friends) were always on hand to sort out practical issues or give advice on interesting places to visit. Thanks again Dorreen !

Summary: The apartment was very clean, tidy and comfortable. It is well equiped throughout. Marta is a lovely small town by the shore of glorious Lake Bolsena. We ate out at the local resturants which are excellent and good value. We toured around the area every day. The sunsets on the waterfont are a incredable sight.

Summary: We had a lovely 5 day holiday in Marta. The apartment was beautifully furnished and very comfortable, clean and light. It contained everything that we needed, as we have two young children and it isn't possible to eat out all of the time. The children thoroughly enjoyed the games and books provided, sleeping in their little bedroom and saying 'hello' in Italian to passersby, from the balcony. Marta itself is very pretty and tranquil. We enjoyed walks by the lake and the children loved the nearby playgrounds. The people are all very friendly. we had a car and visited the nearby towns of Capodimonte, Orvieta and Montefiascone. Everywhere was relaxed and picturesque. What a lovely escape from the wind and rain in England. We would definitely like to return for another holiday in the summer months and try swimming in the lake. Many thanks also to the owner for helping to return the mobile phone that we left in the apartment, just prior to leaving! we would thoroughly recommend the apartment in Marta to anyone wanting a relaxing break and a good base to visit lots of other places from.

Summary: The apartment is lovely and spacious, very clean with everything you needed, including a delightful owner with lots of tips on where to go and what to see. Doreen also took us to meet her lovely horse, Actea and see where the beautiful olive oil comes from. Her local knowledge and Italian were invaluable at a nearby restaurant. Marta in November was very quiet and peaceful. A delightful place to be. We do hope to get back and enjoy this again.

Summary: This was my second visit and it won't be my last. The town of Marta is a genuine Italian town with a traditional feeling, lovely shops and people, in particular and especially, Doreen. If Doreen is in residence then you can be sure of a warm and caring welcome, she will provide information and the occasional present of fresh vegetable left on your door handle! I had a problem with my Hertz hire car this trip and Doreen was very helpful in using her excellent Italian to support me whilst I was sorting the problem out. I would highly recommend the area, Orvieto is stunning, especially the drive. The towns around the lake are perfect little gems of Italy with Capodimonte being especially excellent for access to swimming in the lake. If you can find the 'white road' you will also find a more secluded base to swim from. Thank you Doreen for making this trip so special.

Summary: We have enjoyed two holidays at Doreen's apartment; it is an ideal base for exploring the local area. Oriveto is a beautiful city to visit and explore. We also enjoyed lazy days at Capodimonte; swimming in the lake, strolling around the marina and enjoying a gelato under the trees. Marta is a lovely little town where you feel welcome, and can enjoy a taste of real Italy. There are many restaurants, and cafes who will supply your morning cappuccino, mid afternoon gelato and evening prosecco. We were also lucky enough to be in Marta with our teenage daughters for one of the many festivals over the summer. There were market stalls, food stalls and lots of live music to enjoy. The apartment it well equipped, light and airy, and provides the best host you can wish for. From food parcels left on the mat, to having my shoes repaired Doreen provides everything she can for a comfortable and memorable stay.

Summary: I have stayed at Doreen's in Marta twice and loved both holidays. You will get a modern, beautifully equipped and decorated apartment AND all the advantages of a traditional rural Italian town. The restaurants (for long lazy evenings with delicious food), groceries and bakeries are all local treasures. The owner, Doreen knows everybody and all you have to do is mention her name and you become a guest in Marta and not just a tourist. Her love of Italy is quite infectious. Nearby towns like Viterbo and Orvieto are fascinating either by car or you can rattle happily around on local buses seeing enchanting villages few tourists reach and meeting local people. The town of Marta itself offers great walking and exploring, and Lake Bolsena for boating or cruising. You can be as busy or as laid back as you want here - it's best to do both. I hope you will be happy to see us back again Doreen for a third visit.
