This two bedroom, two bathroom Villa with great views of Jenkins Creek. The Villa is less than 200 yards from The Dataw Clubhouse where there is an outdoor and indoor pool, croquet, tennis, and golf.
Dataw Island is located on the tidal waterway between Charleston and Hilton Head. It is 15 minutes from Beaufort and 15 minutes from the pristine Hunting Island State Park and Beach. As soon as you cross over the bridge to Dataw Island, relaxation begins on this spectacular island.

Summary: We have visited this VRBO 3 times and really like the location and being able to enjoy the pool. This visit had a few drawbacks for us this time. The biggest problem was the appearance and cleanliness of the carpet downstairs by the table and upstairs in front of the bathroom. I communicated this to Tidewatch office since I didn't want them to think we had soiled the carpet. They said that my complaint had been noted. The second night the clothes dryer began making a strange sound and cut off before the clothes were dry. A few hours later I was able to get the dryer to start again but we weren't drying clothes just making sure it would start. I also called this to the office's attention via voicemail, no contact back to me on this notification. We also were left with only one house key, where it is stated that there will always be 2 house keys left in the lockbox. The office dropped one addition key by the condo the next day.I left a note for housekeeping because we started the linens in the wash as requested but wanted them to be aware that the dryer had not been functioning properly. This particular property is dated but very adequate for our needs for a few days vacation. Hopefully, in the future the condo will be cleaned in a more thorough fashion. The AC was replaced last year before our August visit and it works extremely well for the downstairs. The upstairs greatly benefits from the fan that can be used upstairs during the really high temperatures in late summer. This is the first review that I have had to reach out to the office for their assistance.

Summary: This is a very comfortable condo at Dataw Island. Close to Beaufort, Port Royal, Harbor Island. Very quiet setting. I don't play golf , so I cannot comment on that, but the indoor lap pool is lovely and I had it all to myself! The restaurant at the marina is very close and very good.

Summary: Where to begin? The toilet upstairs ran the entire time. Prop manager said she'd "try" to get someone to fix it. Never did. No large boiling pots to cook in, no lids for the ones they did have. I know that sounds petty, but we wanted to cook a lowcountry boil. There was no soap in one bathroom, and the handsoap dispensers in both baths were almost empty. And while this isn't the property's fault, we left a sliding door open for about ten minutes while we walked to the dock, and someone came in and left a feminine hygiene product in a bathroom. Seriously. BTW, the sliding doors need to be greased and the trash in the bin storage needs to be cleaned up badly. We still enjoyed our trip, but it was more because Dawtaw is so nice, not because the lodgings were.

Summary: The condo at Dataw Island was a wonderful weekend escape for an anniversary getaway. An easy drive from Charleston, we enjoyed the beautiful vistas from the porch with a morning coffee or evening cocktail. The spot was an easy drive to Hunting Island and Lands End and we also enjoyed relaxing by the club pool. Thanks for a relaxing retreat!
