Positive: Unique location and building, large bedrooms, very good cuisine and friendly staff. Perfect for a relaxing stay.
Negative: Prices are definitely at the very top end for Rwanda. With hindsight we realised there are other hotels with exceptional locations in this beautiful country, at softer prices.

Positive: The views from every single part of the property were gorgeous. The service was extremely tailored and the food was excellent. The host Joelle was a highlight and always a made sure our every need was met. The views from the room are spectacular and there’s lots of activities you can do in and around the property
Negative: Being that we were in nature, there were a few bugs that came into the room but there’s nothing the lodge can do about that! We are in nature!
Summary: We had a wonderful stay and seriously considered extending by another night

Positive: We had an exceptional wonderful stay at Umurobyio Lodge. It's the perfect place to unwind and immerse oneself in the beautiful nature of Rwanda. The Lodge offers everything one would need for an unforgettable holiday.The scenic views from all angles over Lake Kivu are breathtaking. The staff were incredibly attentive, always helpful and friendly, catering to our needs with a warm smile. The hospitality of the owners and the whole team made us feel truly welcome. The food was a highlight - fresh, delicious, and healthy, a feast for both the eyes and the palate.  Our room was spotless, clean, and very comfortable, complete with a spacious balcony offering a fantastic view over the lake.  We had a wonderful experience and we can only recommend the Lodge for a perfect holiday.

Positive: I’ve stayed at many places in Rwanda but this by far is the best. It’s obviously on the pricey side but it was worth every cent. The food was amazing, the views from every angle were incredible and the staff really made you feel welcomed and well taken care of. I will definitely coming back.

Positive: Everything was amazing. We received an exceptional welcome, the food was healthy and delicious, and we got all the assistance we needed for touring. My kids loved the lodge and all the activities they experienced, including cruising on Lake Kivu, swimming, enjoying the fishermen experience, and of course, playing cards. We had an unforgettable time. The owners, Aicha and Ivan, are incredibly kind and caring. It was a wonderful vacation. Umurobyi is a peaceful and quiet place - with a great view, perfect for relaxing and unwinding.

Positive: The views are immaculate! The heart and soul is truly the staff. Joelle, the manager, is an absolute a gem! The food is delicious, Jean is an incredible chef who goes out of his way to accommodate special requests and comes out and helps make your dining experience special. There’s truly nothing like this property. It’s a home they turned into a hotel and it’s so intimate. We will definitely be back!!

Positive: Simply the best. We loved the modern fresh architecture. Stunning views from beautiful rooms with air conditioning and lovely linens. If you like to swim, the lake water is beautiful and the pool is lovely. Kayaks are new and nice. We went out with the local fisherman one night which the hotel arranged and it was so interesting and fun. Lovely area to walk outside the property. Wonderful meals prepared and served when requested with grace and style. The entire staff, without exception, is friendly, helpful and attentive. Simply the best!
