'Camp George' is a charming Maine cottage situated amongst tall pines on a half acre lot providing privacy in a quiet retreat. Open concept kitchen with new microwave and dishwasher and living room. Two private bedrooms, one with two twin beds, the other with a queen size bed. A washer and dryer are available in the unfinished basement. The property includes a huge fire pit with perimeter seating and a redwood table with bench seating for outdoor dining by the fire pit. There is an additional dining area on the waterside deck with a second fire pit option. Watercraft provided include 4 kayaks, a 16' fiberglass square back canoe, and a paddle boat which seats 4. A 16 foot pontoon boat is available at an additional cost. Six Adult life jackets are available. You will need to bring your own special life jackets for your toddlers. Please bring your own linens and towels. If you want linens and towels provided, there will be an additional fee - please contact the owner. During the term of your rental, you may use the two Lake Arrowhead community centers and without charge. The closest clubhouse is within walking distance, less than one mile away in Limerick, consisting of a state-of-the-art fitness center with sauna, weight room, cardio room and exercise room with optional scheduled classes and a heated indoor pool. The larger clubhouse in North Waterboro is only 3.5 miles away, providing a heated indoor pool, an outdoor pool, air hockey, ping pong and billiard table for the kids, an adult's only billiards room with darts, 4 outdoor tennis and basketball courts, and a childrens' playground. You also have beach privileges at any of the lake's 12 private sandy beaches (the best located only a short paddle boat ride from the cottage). Lots of things to do... even when it rains!
Lake Arrowhead is famous for fabulous fall foliage and spectacular sunsets. An eagle nest is only a short kayak ride from the cottage. And if you are visiting in winter, there are many snowmobile trails in the immediate area... and don't forget ice fishing! A refundable $500 Security/Damage deposit and $75 housekeeping fee applies to all weekly or greater rentals, and a $250 Security/Damage deposit and $50 housekeeping fee applies to special 3-day rentals, when available. Summary: Inside the property was pretty good, very minor mildew type issue but you can’t really avoid that in a lake house in Maine. Biggest complaint here would be the seating. Both the couch and dining table were a bit uncomfortable. Outside the property was amazing, the lake was magical to kayak. Biggest complaint would be the spiders. Kayaks were full of them. Again kinda something you can’t really control well considering but it was hard to try and get them out. Overall we had a great time, but without those two little issues it would have been stellar. 4.5/5

Summary: This lakefront home worked perfectly for our family of four (8yo and 5yo). We found the home clean and well organized, with all of the accommodations to feel like a home away from home. The owners clearly put a lot of care into the home and their attention to detail was obvious and appreciated. We enjoyed meals out on the porch overlooking the water and our boys appreciated the games provided (chess, whack-a-mole, etc.). We spent many hours enjoying the boats provided, fishing from both the boats and dock, sitting around the campfire, and playing beanbag toss. The broom in the basement was useful for dealing with dock and boat spiders. We did wish that the closest grocery store chain was a bit closer than a 20 minute drive, but a great location if you are looking to get away from it all. Overall, we enjoyed Camp George and and would recommend it for a Maine lakeside vacation.

Summary: We stayed with our two boys ages 7 and 10 and had a wonderful week! Our kids commented on how comfy the beds were! All equipment was provided, and we made use of all of it! Great fishing! The area around the dock is not ideal for swimming due to lots of weeds, but the swimming beach is just a short walk up the street or a quick pedal boat ride. We made s’mores almost every night and used all of the kitchen appliances and laundry machines. Everything was in working order. We contended with some ants in the home (very rainy summer near a lake) but the owner responded to that immediately upon being notified and we easily found ant spray in the laundry room to use. We would most definitely stay again.

Summary: Had a nice time at camp. First day went right out on the dock to fish. Took a trip in the paddle boat. Ate at The Fairground Restaurant in Cornish. Had a bon fire back at camp. Second day went to visit family and back to camp for another bon fire. Third day rain so went to the club to play air hockey and pool. Ate at Skips in Buxton. The cottage was immaculate and so cute. Had everything you could think of to make your stay comfortable and fun!! Thanks George!!

Summary: Camp George is the perfect getaway. My wife and I had a great time. We choose to vacation in Maine for the relaxion and the fishing, and we were not disappointed at Camp George. Summary: Wonderful! Immaculately clean, comfortable, well-maintained and thoughtfully equipped. Full of thoughtful touches, little extras, and helpful instructions everywhere. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, George, and he went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. We took one day trip to the ocean shore (only an hour away) but otherwise spent the whole week exploring the lake and enjoying the property. Located in a quiet, protected cove that's perfect for kids or beginner paddlers. Highly recommend renting the pontoon boat for maximum lake enjoyment! We felt so at home and can't wait to return. I'd love for this to be my little secret but I just can't say enough about Camp George!
