This is Bohemian loft living for two people looking for a quiet sanctuary but with all the amenities of the West coast of Barbados on the doorstep and a short walk to a beautiful Alleyne's beach where we have private sun beds from Royal Pavillion; unique with its out door terrace, this is indoor/outdoor living and perfect for relaxing at home . The loft has one large bedroom and an over sized bathroom with twin sinks.
The coast road and bus stop are close by giving easy access to Holetown (5mins) and Speightstown (10 mins) by car or bus . Or 15 mins by foot along the beach and boardwalk. 3 minute walk to the beautiful West coast beaches of the Royal Pavilion one side and the Coral Reef .
Eat out at the wide selection of restaurants or enjoy preparing food at home and relaxing on the terrace.
The owner lives below the loft so is here to meet and greet if on island and to help guide you to the less tourist parts of the island.
The neighbourhood/road of Glitter Bay Terrace is residential and quiet so I ask people to respect our neighbours and for this reason we ask that guests do not to bring people back to the loft to entertain - so although it is a wonderful entertaining space, it is just to be enjoyed by two people. We do ask that after 10pm there is no loud noise and of course no parties or events.

Summary: We had a lovely stay at Melissa’s upstairs apartment. It was great to have so much space to ourselves in a great spot a short walk to the beach. The pass to the Fairmont beach club made all the difference in the quality of our stay.It was a pleasure to meet Melissa, after a little confusion about the location. The apartment is showing its age a little, but we certainly had everything we needed.Thanks for a wonderful introduction to Barbados!

Summary: I want to start this review by saying that I would book this flat again in a heartbeat (and likely will in the future). Melissa is an amazing host - kind, attentive, knowledgeable, and communicative. She pre-arranged a taxi to take me from the airport to the flat and helped me feel right at home. While there, she took me to a yoga/gong bath evening under the full moon, brought me to a local coffee shop on the beach, and responded promptly anytime I needed something. The flat is large and would be perfect for two people (even though I was there solo and am a homebody, so it worked great for me). I was also given access to the Fairmont’s beach club (a very short walk from the flat), which was lovely. Getting around by bus is as easy as it gets. There are bus stops very close to the flat and a ton of them throughout the island. I took the yellow minibuses everywhere for $3.50 Barbadian dollars ($1.75 USD) and the frequent buses make it super easy to explore the island or even just run to the grocery store. I never once felt unsafe and grew to enjoy the bus rides. The unit has a washing machine (make sure to buy some liquid detergent) and every kitchen appliance you can imagine (there’s even an air fryer and a Nutribullet!). It is the perfect flat for a long-term stay. I have almost no suggestions. I would maybe include extra beach towels but really, that’s all I can think of. All in all, I cannot recommend Melissa’s flat highly enough. I had an absolutely wonderful stay.

Summary: We had a lovely stay at the loft. The space is so large and beautiful it feels very spacious and the terrace is a great space for evenings and meals. Everything is close by and the bus goes just 5 minutes walk away from the house which can take you to Holetown or Speightstown. The beach beds at the royal pavilion are a fantastic benefit and it means you have beache beds less than 5 minutes away. You also get 10% off food and drinks with the beach club card. I would highly recommend staying here and we’d love to come back. Wonderful space, location and host.

Summary: The Loft is a really large apartment with a lovely airy feel due to high ceilings and windows with full mosquito screens that allow you to leave open without the flys getting in. The bed was very comfy and the fan and A/C kept us cool at night. The kitchen was large and clean with an array of equipment to make life easy. The lounge was relaxing and i was able to watch uk football games which was a bonus. Mellisa is very welcoming and lives below and she was always helpful with places to go and she gave us a pass to the Fairmont hotel which we used everyday and it made the holiday that bit extra special. Buses outside are frequent and you can be in Holetown or Speightown in 10mins enjoying great restaurants and bars. We would definitely stay here again. Steve & Sharon.

Summary: The Loft met and exceeded our expectations for a self-catering vacation close to the beautiful west coast beaches of Barbados The accommodation, comprising the upper floor of a detached villa, is very spacious and airy with a large covered terrace for outside dining and relaxation. The complimentary Beach Club membership at the Fairmont Royal Pavilion (5 minutes walk) is a great bonus, giving access to beach, sunbeds and hotel facilities. The proximity to the main road is convenient for public transport (Reggae bus) to Holetown, Bridgetown and Speightstown but road noise can be a bit intrusive at busy times. The host, Melissa, was very helpful both before and during our stay.

Summary: A return visit to this wonderful loft apartment, a few mins stroll to Alleynes Bay and the wonderful beaches there. JuJu, Juma, Lonestar or the Fairmount Beach Club are right there for lunch or dinner and you’re 5 mins on the bus to Holetown. One of our favourite spots on the island. Thanks for having us Melissa x

Summary: Wonderful base for our week on the West Coast. Large, comfortable apartment with a superb balcony. Delightful hostess. 5 minute walk to the beach club, 20 minutes to Holetown. Plenty of buses close by heading north and south along the coast. What not to like?

Summary: Up market bohemian type loft apartment . Very airy and spacious, with large outside terrace, but with sun only late afternoon. Sun all day is provided with a free beach club membership within a five minute walk with all your needs, beds, sun umbrella etc. provided free.
