Grab a book, a tall glass of iced tea, and relax on the deck as you watch the boats go by! From the minute you arrive at this cottage, located on 6-acres beside the W.E. Skelton 4-H Center, you’ll be wowed by the views and beauty of Smith Mountain Lake. This home is one of only a few homes that sit OVER the water, giving you a tremendous view from the walls of windows in the great room and master bedroom.
This home has been updated throughout with granite countertops, marble bathroom flooring and beautiful vertical cable railing on the outdoor deck. The Master Bedroom has two sets of sliding glass doors directly to the deck and has remote-controlled blinds, so sunrises can be enjoyed with the click of a switch. The 2nd bedroom has twin beds, which works great for kids and singles, alike.
Outfitted with both a floating dock next to the dock as well as a pad for a jet-ski, which may be used during your stay. This home is close to restaurants by water or by car and only a short 8–10-minute drive from a major grocery store.
Please note: The driveway down to the house is steep. Some people prefer to park on top of the driveway and walk down - but there is adequate parking beside the house for 2 cars.

Summary: We booked this lake house for a much needed long weekend. Overall, the property is great. The views are amazing and it is very quiet and peaceful. We would stay here again!

Summary: This is one great place to stay!! We brought our boat and the convenience of having it docked below us was great for people like us that live to fish! The kitchen is stocked with the appliances and everything you need to cook every night like we did!! The rest of the place is decorated beautifully (and the bed in the master is REALLY comfortable - we have had many that were not and it matters). The views from the deck and living spaces are beautiful! We will definitely be back!!

Summary: I wanted peace and quiet and this was just the place to have it and very convenient to have your boat docked and ready to fish or play whenever you want with no hassle.

Summary: As a realtor who also grew up at Smith Mtn Lake, it’s generally hard to impress me. But this place is so special. The wide water and rolling pastoral views from 90% of the home (family room and primary bedroom) are breathtaking. Even on a chilly Easter /April weekend, we wanted to spend all of our time on the deck. Very well appointed with new kitchen and bar area open to the family room, but the lake’s best restaurant is also 2 miles away (and that drive has the most picturesque farm and elevated lake views). These folks have such a gem here. Can’t wait to go back!

Summary: What a great lake retreat! We really enjoyed our stay - right on the lake in a clean and well-appointed place. Nice king-sized bed, up-to-date kitchen and bath. Karen was a wonderful host, available, helpful, and gracious. Thanks for all your help, Karen!

Summary: My girlfriend I stayed here for 3 nights and the overall experience we had was wonderful. From the time I booked the place, the communication between Karen (The owner) and I was great. She was very informative and answered any questions I had and was a great help. This made our check-in and duration of our stay very easy and comfortable. When we arrived the place was very clean and was well prepared for us to stay there. They have everything they listed on their description and then some. We loved how many windows there were that surrounded the entire property, which allowed us to have breathtaking views during sunrise and sunset and also throughout the day of course. We cooked most of the time we were there and there was everything and anything you would need for cooking. Although, if you do want to eat in the area there are a bunch of different restaurants within driving distance that had great reviews. We took full advantage of the deck, upper and lower levels, we got to take in the views while we had our breakfast and also fished a few times. As for activities we suggest the Booker T. Washington memorial, D-Day memorial and the US Alpaca’s tour and experience. Overall our stay was a memorable one and we loved everything about it. I would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be coming back here again in the future!
