You'll find several excellent opportunities for hiking and biking throughout the Charlotte area. Thompson's Point is a popular walking/biking spot with a two-mile loop, a three-mile loop, and the public beach at Whiskey Bay. A tennis court, basketball hoop, and small playground are available just a short walk down the road if a usage donation is made to the club. Nearby parks include the 63-acre Williams Woods Natural Area and Mount Philo State Park, a 237-acre expanse you can choose to drive or hike up, with stunning views from the top. Be sure to bring your camera for wildlife viewing in both areas. The township of Charlotte boasts a Village Winery, Wildflower Farm, library, senior center, a convenient car ferry to NY State, the iconic Old Brick Store, and the Clemmons Family Farm-one of the 22 official landmark cultural and historic sites on Vermont's African-American Heritage Trail, which offers tours and periodic events such as speakers and dances. Other museums and points of interest within a short drive of this cabin include the world-class Shelburne Museum, Shelburne Farms, the Rokeby Museum, the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, and Basin Harbor. For great day trips, get to Stowe, the Ben & Jerry's Factory Tour, Mt. Parking notes: There is free parking for 4 vehicles.
Dock details: The dock is approximately 15 feet long. Ropes or other boating equipment are not included. The water depth fluctuates but is no more than five feet deep near the end of the dock. Swimming is allowed at your own risk.
Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.
