Positive: Charming cottage that was cozy for our family of four and would be ideal retreat for an individual or couple. Beautiful touches in the simple decor and comfortably furnished. Outdoor area for the cottage very nice with exquisite roses and a picket fence in front. Laerdal is a rather quiet town but nicely positioned and definitely more off the beaten path than Flam.

Negative: As with many Norwegian homes, getting luggage up to the bedroom can be a challenge. Access to the upper bedrooms is more like a ladder than stairs. That is not a negative, just a consideration.
