Summary: This was an amazing house, full of history, huge, and met all of our needs. We wish there was a written history of the place. On the downside, it was in serious need of thorough cleaning...inside and out. The grounds could have been enjoyed if the grass was cut. For some reason there had been no housekeeping when we arrived but the property manager and her host of friends came to the rescue as soon as they were made aware. They were wonderful and fun to talk to. It was only basic cleaning but that was understandable. Clearly it has needed a cleaning service for quite some time, but we are flexible and it added to the whole experience. We really loved the house despite these things. It has so much potential. We spent hours conjuring up stories of it's history! Area highlights: the quilt shop, the McPhearson (?) cemetery, and the 2 local wineries. It was a memorable trip for us all and a perfect location between Omaha & Denver.

Summary: The owner cancelled on our way into the property due to AC unit failure. We had to find a hotel last minute. We understand this is not anyone's fault, necessarily, but it was jarring to be notified that we had no place to stay a couple hours before our arrival.
