3 Bedroom House in Monroe

The majority of our guests use the house while visiting Liberty University however due to it's location there are many other reasons to stay here as well. Hit the See More button below to see a sample of area attractions.
But first, the view: The house is located on a hilltop acre that provides unobstructed breathtaking views of a valley filled with berries or pumpkins (depending on the season), apple orchards and Christmas trees with the Tobacco Row Mountains as a backdrop. The enclosed porches off of the master bedroom and kitchen are perfect spots to take it all in. Originally the property was a country store with a gas pump and a mill. The living room is where the store operations took place. The rest of the house was home to the proprietors.
Area Attractions Include:
0-10 minute drive: Miles of quiet country roads for walking, jogging, bird watching or
cycling right out the front door.
Morris Orchard- The apple slushies are a refreshing treat. U-pick
berries, pumpkins and Christmas tress available in season. Goat
petting/feeding. Withing walking distance or a 5" drive.
Woodruff's Pie Shop-Their apple pie has been featured in Southern
Living Magazine. Other pies are also available as well as a limited
lunch menu. 10" drive.
Grocery stores and restaurants. 10" drive.
A 20 minute drive: Liberty University
Amazement Square (fun for kids!)
Blue Ridge Parkway (BRP)
Fishing at Otter Creek Lake.
ATV Trail- South Pedlar
A 30 minute drive: Poplar Forest, Thomas Jefferson's summer home.
Appomattox Court House.
Virginia Distillery Company (Single Malt Tour and Tasting)
Kayaking the James River
A 40 minute drive: Natural Bridge with its State Park, Caverns, Safari Park and Zoo
There are 3 bedrooms:
The Master Bedroom has a queen size bed and walk in closet off of it's private bathroom. There is also a private sun porch with comfortable seating for 4 to enjoy the views.
Bedroom #2 has a double bed
Bedroom #3 is quite cozy in size, but provides space for a set of twin bunk beds.
The kitchen is equipped for your cooking needs. There is a combo living room/dining room with a propane fire place, flat screen TV, DVD, and Dish Network. The house has WiFi internet access, however, due to the country setting it is provided via satellite and subject to limitations; No streaming or internet gaming.

Summary: We had a restful, quiet girls' weekend, taking in the views from the back deck during the day and from the sun room in the evenings. The spacious house is well-stocked with all the essentials, the beds were comfy, and the views from all sides were amazing! We found a keeper and would love to book future girls' weekends back here!

Summary: We found this beautiful, scenic place when looking for lodging close to where a niece was competing in college softball in the area. The house is spacious and cozy; well kept with attention to detail. The yard is huge and the view of Tobacco Row Mountain is without obstruction. The date also coincided with my birthday. All in all, a beautiful couple of days. We can't say enough about the kindness of our hosts. Should we find ourselves back in this neighborhood, we hope we're welcomed back. The Austin's

Summary: This will definitely be a place that we will return to often! This house has everything that you'll need for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle. Nestled in the country with a great view of the mountains, you'll find everything you'll need. Kitchen was stocked with plenty of pots and pans, cooking utensils (although it could use a spatula), cookie sheet and all the little extras. Beds were comfortable and pillows just right. There are two 3 season rooms: one off the kitchen and one off the master bedroom! So delightful!! The owners were very easy to get ahold of and were very accommodating for our group. Will definitely stay here again!

Summary: This is a great property for a family to relax in. We were in the process of moving my granddaughter to Lynchburg and the house provided a great place to recuperate and relax. Has everything we needed and the view is spectacular. Host was available and helpful.
