Positive: The room was large and the beds were comfortable. The room is directly in the center of the city and that is really great: pubs are within walking distance! In the kitchen there is a washing machine, a good fridge and a big stove with oven.
Negative: The room has no ventilation: not in the kitchen, not in the bathroom and not in the room with the beds. Pots, pans, plates are limited and cooking a full meal is not really possible.

Positive: The apartment was basically very clean - apart from mold in the shower. The owner of the apartment was very nice in the chat and responded quite quickly. He also offered to put up a missing curtain in the living room/bedroom the next day. However, I was on a day trip that day and therefore not in Waterford. I didn't use the kitchen so I am not able to rate it, but it seemed well equipped and clean.
Negative: The biggest disadvantage of the apartment is definitely the single glazing of the windows facing the street. Of course I was aware that it could be louder above a well-known bar, but I've lived in the middle of Manhattan and on a busy street in Prague and nowhere was it THAT loud. If you rent the apartment on a Friday or Saturday, be prepared for live music until the early hours of the morning, which, without exaggerating, sounds like it's being played right in your room with an amplifier. What's more, the cabs stop right outside the apartment and the drivers and guests shout things at each other in a friendly way all night long. Due to the single glazing, the volume is as if there were no window at all or as if it were left wide open all night. There was also no curtain in front of one of the windows in the living room/bedroom, so it was quite bright all night. However, I have a sleep mask with me when I travel, so THAT wasn't a problem for me personally. As already mentioned in the “positive section”, the owner also offered to put the curtain up the next day. I appreciate that, but why don't you do that in advance if you're expecting guests? Would any guest prefer to have just one curtain? Flushing the toilet and turning on the faucet in the bathroom is very loud and startles you at first, but you get used to it. If modern, double-glazed windows were installed and the mold in the shower removed, the apartment would be a top address in Waterford. As it is now, it's okay, but I would recommend not booking for the weekend, unless of course you don't have day trips and are able to join the other partypeople downstairs until the early morning. In that the apartment is probably perfect for you.
Summary: Single glazing windows - VERY loud on weekends. Visually nice. Probably perfect for partypeople.

Positive: The location was excellent. The apartment was clean and tidy. Beds were grand.
Negative: The curtain pole fell down as it was barely hanging on by a thread. No mirrors anywhere. The heater needs to be on the wall not the floor. If these little things are done then this would have gotten excellent. The host was very helpful and had good communication 😀
