Negative: We couldn’t find the location for quite some time Also, the reception closed early so we had to go to a different hotel for check in- a25 min drive from our hotel location… The pool was dirty

Negative: Was very difficult to find even with Google map. Nobody in reception both at checkin and checkout. Had to ask hotel guests for help.

Positive: The view and garden were fantastic. Also the woman at the desk was very kind.
Negative: My wife and I stayed here for 3 days and were alone for 2 days in the complex and the 3th day there was a famaly for one night The gardener gets a 10 from us as well as the beautiful surroundings! Everything else is a bit less.... The cottages and rooms (shipping container style) are very cheaply set up as is the (missing!) decoration. It's empty.... We totally did not feel ourselves at home in these industrial style unenjoyable cabins It could be so much better with medium and small adjustments. Swimming pool is unusable as it is way too cold and in need of renovation. (missing tiles) No restaurant available, you have to drive at least 10 minutes to find one. No minibar, shop or vending machine for snacks or drinks. Missing fridge in the studios, no coffee machine, no water cooker, no ventilation in the bathroom and way more missing things that you would expect like in a normal hotel room.

Positive: Amazing place with a wonderful view. Located among spectacular hills and vineyards. Beautiful, well-kept hotel area. Great accommodation, airy, good equipped, stylish and cozy. The staff was very kind and hospitable. Delicious breakfast with fresh homemade pastry. Highly recommend.

Positive: Vila Marim Country Houses was an excellent place to stay at while in the Douro Valley The bedrooms were very comfortable and had great views over the vineyards. Breakfast was delicious and staff very friendly.
Negative: The place is a little difficult to find and quite far from restaurants.
