Positive: Friendly reception staff. The apartment was lovely, spacious and comfortable - we had a cleaner come in every other day. The whirlpool bath didn't work in our en suite but it didn't bother us as we didn't know there was one in the first place! We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, as we were self-catering in the apartment but it looked nice. We ate at the hotel's Topos restaurant one evening which was good, a bit pricey so we only did it once, but lovely, attentive staff and they catered for vegans too which was a bonus. Food-wise, if you want a nice, value-for-money meal and don't want to spend a fortune at the nearby Marina restaurants, we can highly recommend a Portuguese cafe called Mourapao Pizzeria which does incredible pizzas (vegan too!) It's based in Quarteria but you can walk there in about 15 minutes from the apartment. We found it to be lovely food and excellent value for money. It does burgers, lasagnes, pastas and lots of Portuguese pastries too as well as freshly squeezed juices, such as their carrot, beetroot and orange. The Domes Lake Hotel (which is where the apartment is based) is lovely - if you want to lie by the outdoor pool in the fabulous weather (we went in late November and all came back with a bit of a tan) then you won't be disappointed. The outdoor pool was a bit cold but you soon warm up. The Spa centre is incredible - Turkish, Roman steam rooms, sauna and jacuzzis including a saltwater one and a lovely warm swimming pool. We had a facial at the spa and it was quite expensive (around £80 - £120 each for half an hour) but it was OK, the staff were brilliant and it was all round incredibly relaxing. The beach is just a five minute walk away with its golden sand plus great for surfing. We hired a car and drove one day to a monument in a mountain village called Monchique which was lovely. Another day we went shopping in Lagos which is a fantastic place. All round, we love the Algarve and will be back!
Negative: The apartment might have included an information sheet about the hotel complex though the host Joana is really helpful and lightning quick at replying. Information like; you need to book the fabulous hotel spa suite before you can use it or that being in the apartment (and not an actual room in the hotel) you can't sign for drinks at the pool (you have to pay there and then). The TV and Wifi was OK, very occasionally service dropped out but not enough to let it get to us. The kitchen is very well equipped with some great appliances thrown in. There was no tea or coffee /milk /fruit on arrival so make sure you stop at the supermarket on the way in. There is a supermarket just one minute walk from the apartment - it's called a supermarket but really it's more of a deli, selling freshly baked bread, crisps, olives etc. The nearest big supermarket is a drive away.

Positive: Brilliant place to stay for a young family. Apartment was on site, with full use of the hotel's fantastic facilities. The Marina and local shop are just a short walk away. The apartment itself has an open layout, with the photos not doing it justice. I would recommend this venue to friends.
