2 Bedroom Villa in Jekyll Island

Villa 230 is a large efficiency unit, perfect for one or two people or a small family. It is located at Villas by the Sea on Jekyll Island, Georgia a half mile from Driftwood Beach and across the street from Horton Pond.
**The Villas by the Sea Complex is at the end of a major exterior building renovation project. Our building is finished with construction, but you may see/hear construction crews during the day, Monday – Friday.**
Villas by the sea is a beautiful property full of established oak trees and possibly the best swimming pool on the island. However, it is an older property built in 1972 with all the charms and cosmetic flaws that entails. If up to date high end accommodations are more your thing, we get it, and can recommend the newly built Westin or one of the other newer condominiums on the island. If on the other hand, you’re looking for an affordable but charming unit with a comfortable bed and the basic necessities to re-coup in between all of your island adventures, we’ve got your back!
The Villa is separated from the ocean by natural trees and sand dunes, so there is not a direct view of the ocean. Our beach is only available at low tide. At high tide, the closest beach access is Driftwood Beach a short half mile away.
Items of note:
The entrance is on the ground floor with parking directly in front of the unit. This is a single level unit with no stairs and handicap parking very close by.
The suite has a queen-sized bed along with a full-size pull-out couch. The bathroom includes a step-in shower and small sink with hairdryer underneath.
The small kitchen includes coffee maker, induction stove top, microwave oven, and 7.3 cu feet fridge with freezer. The **kitchen does NOT have an oven.** There is also a small dining room table for two and a flat screen TV. The sliding glass door opens to a small covered sitting area and continues out to the playground.
Property amenities include onsite dining at the Driftwood Bistro, a pirate themed playground, swimming pool, fitness facility, coin laundry machines, a basketball court, and bike rentals for use on the bike trail with access just outside the door.

Summary: The villa was perfect for my sons and I. It was clean, well stocked and in a perfect location. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the playground and we all loved the pool and hanging on the beach during low-tide. All-in-all we had a fantastic stay and will definitely return in the future!

Summary: The studio apartment was the perfect location for our Jekyll Island stay. We did find the outside surrounds to be well maintained with easy access to Driftwood Beach, bike trails and other Barrier Islands. The cleanliness of the efficiency apartment was disappointing. The refrigerator had mold on the bottom shelf and crisper. The freezer had not been defrosted in some time. Kitchen pull-outdraw were full of crumbs and rubbish. The outside patio furniture and table were not wiped down and patio area was littered with paper napkins. The bathroom shower curtain was moldy. It may help to alert the cleaning staff supervisor so these cleaning issues can be addressed.
