Positive: Villa Al Ponte was truly a dream. There really is no other place like it. The over 100 year old villa built on an even older foundation part of which you can see in the dining area with its cool stone walls complete with a wine cellar is full of charm and beauty. Each room is filled with an eclectic assortment of objets d’art and each area has its own unique atmosphere. We visited with a fairly large family group and we all found a room in the 3 bed room apartment which spoke to our individual tastes. Even during the extreme summer heat the sleeping areas were cool and airy. The kitchen in our area was basic and charming with a beautiful little terrace which could be open to let in the breeze. I really enjoyed hanging out in the kitchen and cooking. The house is surrounded by a sculpture gardens filled with the proprietor’s own work, adding to the beauty and mystery of the lush surroundings. The pool is cool and clean and has a beautiful view of the house, garden and woods. It was heaven for my 9 and 5 year old kids and in turn for my wife and me. I really can’t overstate how much we enjoyed our stay and we look forward to returning some day. The highlight was really the hospitality warmth and helpfulness of the hosts, Giovanni and Agnes. They were warm, helpful and welcoming but allowed us plenty of space to feel at home. Giovanni was extremely helpful with tips for side trips and amazing dining suggestions in the area and Florence. They even spotted us some pasta when the stores were closed for a holiday :) My kids loved the dog. Wonderful place, wonderful people a rare and memorable experience.

Positive: This is a beautiful villa in the lovely scenery in Tuscany, with a hidden swimming pool. Every room and apartment is different. The management is an Italian successful artist that runs the villa with his wife. We have never felt so welcome in amazing Tuscany, next to wine farms and olive fields. We’ll be back soon.

The villa it is something unique, has many different rooms and full of pieces of art. The location is perfect- close to Florence, and other attractions. Definitely will come back again!
