Positive: Our stay at Villa Alba was pretty great. We interacted with only one staff member throughout our stay and he was very nice and helpful. The Sri Lankan breakfast was yummy and the Villa itself was nice and spacious and very well maintained. It was overlooking a beautiful paddy field and we’d always manage to catch a glimpse of a peacock or two in the mornings.
Negative: The villa was a little bit of a drive away (10-15 minutes) from the beach, so if you don’t have your own private transport it can get a little expensive as the hotel transport (tuk) costs around LKR 1,500.00 for that ride (one way). Alternatively, you can book a PickMe but we found these were usually rare and took a long time to get to the property. The drive to the property was beautiful, but some of the roads were very narrow, so do be aware of that. Finally, when we were checking out, we were given the option to pay by card or make a bank transfer - but the card payment came with an additional 3% surcharge which is no longer legal in Sri Lanka (we informed the staff of this, and we understand this may have happened due to a lack of communication from the management to the staff).
Summary: Overall, a very very relaxing, peaceful stay at a beautiful property.

But this property deserves it flowers, amazing vibes, very thoughtfully built with the most intricate details in mind. Positive: We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Alba. It felt like paradise when we arrived after a long journey. Our room was beautiful – clean, comfortable, with a stunning view and lots of great amenities. We visited in the off-season, so we often had the pool to ourselves for a lot of the time as well as the reception area during breakfast and dinner, which made everything feel even more relaxing and exclusive. The food was brilliant too – so many options, really high quality, and clearly made with care. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Villa Alba also has scooters available to rent, which was super convenient for exploring the nearby local areas. I honestly couldn’t recommend if you're looking for affordable luxury, peacefulness and total relaxation.
