4 Bedroom Villa in Caunes-Minervois

Villa Nova is situated on the edge of the picturesque village of Caunes, with fantastic far-reaching views across the village, the Abbey and countryside. The villa has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on each floor, making it ideal for family get-together or for 2 families holidaying together. The villa is well-appointed with flat-screen TVs (English and French channels), wifi internet, billiards room, large well-maintained salt-water pool, boules pitch, board games, books and music system to keep all ages entertained. Traditional shutters on bedrooms and tiled or wood floors throughout help to keep the house cool in summer, and air conditioning in the kitchen and living rooms provide additional comfort. During the cooler months the house can be heated by electric radiators, air conditioning, and the wood burner in the living room. Ideally positioned on a quiet, private road with no through traffic yet within walking distance (10 mins) to all the village amenities including a choice of restaurants (some might be seasonal), a pizzeria, cafes, bakery selling lovely fresh baguettes and croissants, a small supermarket and butcher, a bank, doctors, pharmacy, hair salon, and artisan workshops.
In 2018 the ground floor bathroom was completely renovated to include modern fittings - shower enclosure, separate bathtub, washbasin and toilet. We also had an ensuite installed in the 4th bedroom (shower, basin and toilet) and a new double bed (see photos). Bedrooms 3 and 4 were given fresh coats of paint, and we replaced the outdoor lounge setting for a lovely new suite.

Summary: Walking into the house was amazing, felt like being a child trying to take in so much all at once! Everything was beautiful and unique. We stayed as a group and it was perfect for us all. Stunning views and so peaceful! Would recommend to anyone!

Summary: The property lived up to expectations especially the pool which was well looked after and a good size. The various rooms were spacious, well appointed and there was a nice flow through patio doors into the outside dining and seating areas. Bedrooms and bathrooms were also comfortable the later being modern. Much to enjoy in the nearby village (walking distance) including restaurants and shops and the greater area We will hopefully visit again

Summary: Lovely house in great location with lovely views. Excellent pool. Bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and clean . Some of the house could benefit from some tlc. Overall a great house for a family holiday.

Summary: We spent a wonderful week at this beautiful property. It had everything we needed for a restful and rejuvinating holiday. The kitchen is stunning and so well equiped. The living room is large with comfortable seating and plenty of room for everyone, the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and there are plenty of bathrooms for all. The outside area is amazing with plenty of areas to relax in sun or shade, play games, boules or table tennis and of course the pool which was very much appreciated in the warm summer heat. The surrounding area is beautiful with lovely walks in the medieval city of Caunes Minervois with it's abbey and cobbled streets. There are lovely restaurants here, our favourites were L'attelier and La Grande Fontaine. We ventured to Carcassonne, Trebes by the canal, we canoed down the Aude from Puicheric. We visited the castles at Latours and the caves at Cabesprine and the Notre Dam du Crus chapel near Caunes Minervois. There is so much to do and see here and the house makes a wonderful base to return to. We will be back. Thank you for an unforgettable week.

Summary: We had a great time in this wonderful and spacious house. well equipped for infants, children and the grown ups! Swimming pool, jeu de boule track, BBQ, you name it! Great location, close to Carcassonne and the Mediterranean our next destination. We will definitely come back and should have staid much longer! Thanks!!!

Summary: Beautiful location and very good accommodation - plenty of bathrooms etc. Generally very cluttered and the kitchen was very disorganised but we found most things we needed. It would have been nice to have air conditioning at least in the upstairs bedrooms as it was very hot. In contrast, the pool was extremely cold! Towels were in short supply - one each for baths and the pool for two weeks was barely adequate but the washing machine worked well. The location more than compensated for any shortcomings.

Summary: My family (10 of us, 3 generations, over 2 weeks) had a wonderful holiday at the Villa Nova. The house is spacious and comfortable, furnished with an interesting mix of up to date equipment as well as lovely traditional French rustic furniture. We all loved spending time in and around the big saline pool, especially the first week when the weather was so hot (40 degrees!). Set on a hillside above the village of Caunes Minervois, there are wonderful views over the village and towards the Pyrenees and the Montagne Noire. The village is interesting with a medieval Abbey, famous historic marble quarries and local shops and restaurants. We also enjoyed discovering the area, including Carcassonne, the Canal du Midi, Minerve, the market at Olonzac, the castles at Lastours, the caves at Cabréspine and the lake at Cavayère. There are also many opportunities to taste the local Minervois wines as vineyards extend in all directions from the village. The house provided us with an excellent base and an ideal setting to celebrate a special family birthday and we would like to thank Jenny for making it available for us to enjoy.

Summary: Our second stay and we'd go again in a heartbeat. Friendly village close to Carcassonne, wonderful home from home with well equipped kitchen and bathrooms, a fantastic pool and staggering views. Rewarding well marked walks from the gorge at Notre Dame du Cros. This place is special.

Summary: A lovely property with a great pool and plenty of space. This is a fantastic place to spend time relaxing and enjoying the fabulous south-west climate. Great wines too! Attractions in the surrounding area are little limiting for children but the accomodation itself is well equipped for entertaining the little ones.
