La Campanina is a small cosy villa with a private swimming pool and situated in the lower Maremma - an extensive and still relatively wild territory in the Southern part of Tuscany - at walking distance to the ancient hamlet of Poggio Capanne with a restaurant bar. The closest shops are at only 2 km away at Poggio Murella. Located in a quiet and relaxing position and plunged in deep nature, La Campanina offers the ideal setting to balance the energies and find peace and serenity, fully relax in the middle of the nature while staying at a well-kept and well- furnished house. As far as the eye can see the view from the house, especially from the terrace stretching on two sides, is on rolling hills and uncontaminated countryside, where you may even gaze at roes and deer. Nevertheless the location is also ideal for sightseeing with plenty of places to visit around. A renowned local attraction is Saturnia (less than 10 km away), one of Italy's most historic thermal sources with natural Waterfalls. In recent times a Spa and Golf Resort (with a 18-holes Golf course) was built close by, and is accessible on daily base. The area also offers plenty of charming historic villages such as Scansano, Pitigliano, Sorano, as well as Etruscan ruins. The country and elegant interiors of La Campanina feature a welcoming atmosphere with individual touches. Summary: Dear Maurizio and Claudia,                                                                                     Many thanks for your generosity and kindness during our wonderful stay at La Campanina in beautiful Poggio Capanne. Your welcome with lovely wine, Olive Oil and fruit was a really wash welcome after a day of travel…molte grazie! The house is wonderful and very well appointed with every convenience on hand and the setting with the view across the valley are breathtaking. The pool was a real bonus in the hot weather and was enjoyed by one and all. We really enjoyed our companion… Mitsy the cat, she is a beauty and dutifully turned upevery day for her food! The area of southern Tuscany is absolutely stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and hope one day to return.

Summary: Thank you for a wonderful stay at La Campanina, for your warm welcome and generosity. We loved the fruit basket and olive oil. The house is a truly beautiful and tranquil place to spend a holiday, as well as being full of history and atmosphere. We were enchanted to meet Mitzi the cat, who arrived every evening for her meal, as well as being thrilled to see the local wildlife, including a young deer, a pine marten and a hedgehog!
