Positive: Villa Kalamitsi is in the middle of the nature. The place is beautiful, comfortable and quiet. The villa is spacious and very clean. The house has three cozy bedrooms and a living room. Great kitchen, there is absolutely everything you ever need. The yard areas are beautiful with outdoor barbecues. A gem of a stunning large swimming pool, you really can swim there. Special thanks to our hosts, Dina and Pantelis. They took exceptionally good care of us. (Incredible dinner and surprises in the fridge) Thank You! As animal lovers, we really enjoyed the numerous cats, which were fun to watch. The big boss of the house, Trufa the dog, was friendly and kept us company. We really enjoyed our stay and lazy days in this wonderful place. We absolutely recommend Villa Kalamitsi.

Positive: We spent a wonderful vacation at Villa Kalamitsi. We found everything we expected there, most importantly peace and privacy. On hot days you can find refreshment in the beautiful and clean swimming pool. A short distance away (about 10 minutes by car) is the charming town of Jeorjupoli, where you can find lovely restaurants and a long sandy beach. The owners of the house are very hospitable, we were very pleasantly surprised by the welcome, the delicious dinner and the well-stocked refrigerator :) We recommend staying at Villa Kalamitsi wholeheartedly.

Positive: The place is beautiful. Very quiet in the hills above Georgioupolis. We loved the pool which is super clean and a good size for proper swimming, not just a splash pool. The hosts, Dina and Pantelis were incredibly kind and generous with their hospitality. There was a hot meal waiting for us when we arrived, and a fridge well stocked with food. Dina also brought us lovely homemade pastries another time. Pantelis kindly met us in Georgioupolis to show us the safest road to the house. This was much appreciated because the roads can be tricky. The last kilometre or so is unmetalled road and a little rough, but we managed fine with a smallish car. If you're worried about driving do consider renting a 4x4. The house is really well equipped with everything you could possibly need including oven, hob, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machines (filter and espresso) etc etc.. There is even an outdoor fridge next to the pool along with a toilet and shower! The gardens are very attractive with lots of different seating areas on different levels, so you can find shade almost all times of the day. There is an outdoor barbecue and even a woodfired pizza oven which Pantelis showed us how to use - we did enjoy the pizzas! There are quite a number of cats at the property, which was not a problem for us, in fact they were very entertaining and added to the enjoyment of the holiday - as I'm sure they will do for many people. They are there to keep the mice away, however if you are allergic or just really don't like cats it's good to be aware. There is also a very friendly dog called Trufa. Dina offered to take her away if we didn't want her at the house, but we like dogs and she was no trouble, she sleeps outside, keeps an eye on things (including the cats!) and given that the house is a little isolated she was good for extra security. All in all we had a wonderful holiday and didn't want to leave!

Positive: It is evident that the owners of this villa have worked hard since 2006 to create a wonderful home and lovely place to have a holiday. The attention to detail reminds me of our own home. Gina and her husband could not have done more to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Three lovely bedrooms, very spacious living area, beautiful pool and seperate barbeque areas. The resident dog and cats were friendly and unintrusive. Everywhere was very clean and the double glazed doors and windows included insect screnes which kept us mostquito free at night.
Negative: We liked everything. It is worth noting that a physically disabled person might find the stairs from the parking area to the front door of the villa difficult. The drive from the main road to the villa is a little bumpy in places but we soon got used to it.
Summary: A lovely villa in a beuatiful location - we plan to return in 2024

Positive: We found this villa on booking and decided to spend a few days here in Crete despite the lack of reviews yet, because it really made a very good impression. We were definitely not disappointed and our expectations were exceeded. Dina and Pantelis are wonderful hosts. We have really rarely experienced such hospitality. They picked us up off the highway in the middle of the night to get us safely to the villa, which was absolutely necessary because Maps and the like take you over very bad roads (be sure to drive out of Georgioupoli and over Kalamitsi Amigdali). Pantelis met us at a coffee shop in Georgioupoli called Greogory's. An off-road rental car does not hurt but is not mandatory. Despite the late hour we were welcomed with a great dinner (the rest of the days we were to ourselves, this was just a great welcome gesture). The villa is beautiful, tastefully decorated and located in the middle of nature. It is also equipped with everything you need. It has 3 bedrooms, each air conditioned and 2 bathrooms, each with shower. There were 4 of us there and we had plenty of space. When we arrived we even found a full fridge, which really surprised us in a very positive way. The houses that you see on the map next door are not inhabited buildings, you are on your own. From the terrace you have a wonderful view of Kalamitsi Amigdali. The pool is a good size and you have sun until late afternoon. There are beautiful beaches in the direction of Rethymo, which you can reach after about 20 min drive. Shopping can be done well in Georgioupoli (10 minutes away), larger shopping facilities can be found in Rethymo. The garden is also very nice and idyllic and offers many beautiful corners. We especially liked the outdoor kitchen. Here there is a large barbecue and even a stone oven. On the property live many cats, but all of them were very sweet and trusting. With us during our stay there was a very friendly and sweet dog named Trufa on the property to guard it.
