Villa Tipsy Gecko is a magnificent large very open two story private waterfront beach house located directly on the Caribbean Sea in Placencia, Belize. Outstanding features radiate luxury and beauty throughout this exquisite 5 Bedroom, 4.5 Bath residence. (5th bedroom does not have its own bath, but a half bath across the hall) Home is meticulously maintained by full time onsite staff and very active owners that continue to invest in property and make improvements like the private pool on beach and access to large covered ocean pier, hammocks, and lounge chairs.
The main home is two stories consisting of over 4,000 sq ft of living area and covered patios directly over looking beach, and covered ocean pier. A great view over the lagoon and the Mayan Mountains can also be had from upstairs living area and bedroom.
Upstairs in the home you will find two owner bedroom suites each directly over looking the ocean that provide breathtaking views. Each owner suite includes a large private bathroom, balcony and huge walk in showers. A large living area and full size walk around bar, complete with 50' flat screen TV and private covered balcony are located between the two owner suites making an ideal setting for two couples to use the home at the same time. Another bedroom with a full/twin bunk bed set up, is also located upstairs. This bedroom does not have its own bath but there is a half bath across the hall.
The two remaining bedrooms are located on the first floor, each with its own private bath.
Cook dinner on the large outside gas grill and enjoy a local drink while relaxing under the fans on the large covered patio steps from the ocean. After dinner, enjoy a quiet private walk on the beach with no one around or retire upstairs to enjoy a drink at the large full walk around bar, complete with large flat screen TV, or sit on the adjacent large covered 2nd floor balcony.
Located just 1 mile north of Maya Beach. The home is uniquely located in upscale area that provides for a very private beach setting, yet it is close to fine dining and other upscale resorts in an exclusive section of Placencia, just 25 minute drive from Placencia Village and air strip.

Summary: The Villa Tipsy Gecko had something for everyone. The 9 persons in our group ranged in age from 16-83. With on-site kayaks, paddle boards, swimming pool, hammocks, lounge chairs, and tiki huts, there was something for everyone. Perhaps the best amenity was the Chef. He prepared the best food that we ate during our visit to the Placencia area. Whether you want to just linger in this beautiful setting or use it as a jumping off point to various excursions, this villa is for you. I know it was for us.

Summary: Group of 8 - Myself and my husband, our 3 grown kids, and 2 grandkids - stayed for 8 days. The communication from the owner was top notch leading up to our trip. Questions answered, directions provided, and advice given all first rate. The house is exactly as presented, so no surprises there. It worked perfectly for our group. The pool and the beach were fantastic! Having the golf cart available was a great way to motor around the peninsula to check things out - much more fun than the rental van we had. The real gem of this house was the staff. Manuel was our chef for 4 days of our stay, and the food he prepared for us was off the charts - he truly spoiled us rotten. Sonja took care of all of our housekeeping needs daily, even doing some laundry for us! The icemaker in the kitchen stopped working and Javier got the repair folks in pronto to get it up and working again. Overall, I would absolutely recommend Tipsy Gecko to anyone looking to spend some time in Belize.

Summary: Our family of 10 enjoyed Tipsy Gecko. From hanging out by the pool, pier or beach; enjoyed the kayaking; seeing iguanas walking around, spotted and sand colored stingrays, fishies and a huge crab was the icing on the cake! So grateful for the pick up and drop off at Placencia airport. The villa was clean, cozy yet spacious, AC was wonderful and the beds were comfortable. Wonderful to wake up to the beach view and the iguanas hanging out on the try outside of bathroom on the second flr. Junior was always polite, kept the grounds clean and got us coconuts for drinking. Brenda was a doll, always polite, great recommendations, and kept the place clean despite the kids and adults sprinkling sand every where! Chef Manuel was a terrific and so were his meals....cooked to perfection! Grilled lobster is a MUST!!! Our meals were so tasty that some of us were literally licking our plates clean!! All the villa amenities and the wonderful staff made us feel pampered. The spa splurge was so relaxing and wonderful. Communication with Bob was terrific and he was extremely helpful, answered all our questions and had some good suggestions. Our vacay was an amazing experience and would definitely recommend Villa Tipsy Gecko!!!

Summary: The home was absolutely beautiful and its amenities allowed our entire family (age range 75 to 7) to be included and enjoy the vacation. The dock was the perfect spot to watch the manatees play in the water, the kids loved the beach and pool and we played games on the veranda every evening while chef Domingo cooked amazing meals. Overall a wonderful place to unwind and relax!

Summary: Bob was great to work with in helping to plan a wonderful trip for our family. We had 7 from our family and everyone loved the house. The chef cooking for us 2 days was the most luxurious part. He served us and did the dishes. We felt so pampered. House pool was cleaned daily. dock was cool and breezy in the hot afternoon sun. Kayaks were fun.

Summary: My husband and I along with our 3 adult daughters and their families including 4 children ages 6 months to 8 years stayed for a week. It was perfect…the most relaxing vacation I have ever experienced! The staff saw to our every need. Manuel cooked us fabulous meals for 3 days of our stay and everyone else saw to it that everything was just right. The kids were so happy with the pool, dock, paddle boards, kayaks, etc. We did a couple of excursions with Captain Jak’s and they were excellent! I highly recommend the Tipsky Gecko and hope to come back some day.

Summary: this is the 3rd stay with Gecko properties and have found them to be very well kept properties. The on site hosts have made sure our stay was wonderful. Ma Bell and her staff always made our stay feel special with daily maid service and 3 days of having a great chef (Domingo) taking care of all our meal needs. He does a great job of accommodating all our needs and pre-making lunch snacks in place of a full meal. The places we have stayed are exceptionally clean when we arrive and stay that way with the staff doing daily upkeep on the house. Thanks again for another wonderful vacation and have already recommended your properties to friends who have asked about our vacations.
