Summary: We were greeted by Anna as soon as we arrived, she had a bottle of bubbly waiting to welcome us. The views are immediately breath taking and the pool situated nicely to be able to enjoy the views whilst relaxing. We loved this holiday even though we have to now endure 2 weeks quarantine, our fabulous 2 weeks holiday was worth it. We certainly hope to return.

Summary: This is an excellent property, a beautiful comfortable house and Anna is a fantastic host, who responds immediately. The house is a short drive out of a small village and looks out over the stunning Andalusian countryside, we so enjoyed relaxing on the terrace or swimming in the gorgeous pool (of which we had exclusive use) after a day of exploring this stunning area of Spain. We were occasionally visited by the 3 friendly family dogs who liked to welcome us home or chill on the terrace from time to time. I highly recommend this as a get away from it all location. Thanks Anna!

Summary: We spent 2 weeks at Casa de La Cuesta with our 2 teenage boys. Its rural setting with endless stunning views were very welcome indeed and offered much needed respite from our home in London. We also enjoyed the dogs who were good company! The welcome pack was excellent and Anna and Andy were were respectful of our privacy but on hand if we needed advice and help with anything. The villa is well set out so that each bedroom has its own separate entrance as well as its own bathroom. We did a lot of cooking at the villa including barbecues. We would have appreciated a bigger fridge and freezer, however, Anna and Andy were happy for us to use their 2nd fridge when we needed to. A washing machine would have been good BUT Anna does provide a laundry service which we used. We all used the pool and this was very welcome on the hot afternoons! It was kept clean daily. The endless views from the pool, terrace and property are mesmerising, you can sit and look at them all day. We also enjoyed laying on the sun-beds at night time to stare up at the stars, such a treat when you live in a City with so much light pollution you can hardly see the stars! We enjoyed running and walking locally, (during the cooler part of the day!) We really enjoyed the local town , Alhama de Granada, we highly recommend a visit not only to food shop or enjoy the bars and restaurants but to walk the narrow streets of the old town with it's Moorish heritage. We attended a local tour of the town, in English, (Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm from the tourist office) and learn't so much about the history of the town and the area, we highly recommend the tour which includes a visit to the dungeon! We also did the gorge walk and can highly recommend this too. Further afield we had a day at the Alhambra in Granada, tickets were booked in advance before we left the UK. It was stunning and well worth the visit. We spent time swimming in the fresh water lake - Bermejales, the scenery with the mountains and the turquoise blue water is stunning, there's no need to go to the coast! During our stay the local village, Santa Cruz Del Commercio, came to life with their annual Fiesta and it was a real treat to be able to experience this alongside the locals, especially the Flamenco dancing! The location and setting is very much rural Spain, authentic, stunning and welcoming, we highly recommend. Thank you Anna and Andy!

Summary: We spent 12 days at this fantastic villa family of 4 with two young kids. Our best family holiday yet. Beautiful area and great facilities villa has everything you could possibly need. A lovely warm welcome (included a welcome pack) from Anna, Andy and family (including the adopted dogs) the owners on site. There whenever you needed anything and full of advice for shopping, area amenities etc but also gave us space when needed. A must is to order Anna’s paella and Andys wood fired pizza divine and great company too. Fab pool which is where we spent most of the time (as well as watching the sunsets from the balcony) and everything you could need, clean and good location. I can’t actually put into words how pleased we were with the villa it far exceeded our expectations even after reading all the previous amazing reviews. Great value for money. Off the beaten track so car is a must but that is part of the charm and worth it for the views and peacefulness. Lake Bermejales is a must visit and the beach at Torre Del Mar - the nearby town of Alhama de Granada was a favourite visiting and eating spot on the evenings we ventured out. We would definitely like to return at some point in the future.

Summary: The villa is a great layout for traveling with a teenager who likes her privacy. Both bedrooms have their own terrace with table and chairs and a little seating area with sofa and table to relax in your own space. Each bedroom has an en-suite with a big walk in shower. Nothing is cramped and ample storage space for clothes etc. The kitchen dining/living area in the middle divide the two bedrooms. The front of the villa had dining table wonderful to sit and watch the sunset. The rooms look even better than the pictures. The villa was clean and a lovely welcome pack, the best we have ever had to set you up for lunch/snack and a drink on arrival .The private pool is a lovely for a dip in the afternoon as it gets very hot up in the hills, more so than on the coast. We had sole use of the pool whilst we were there with choice of chairs and sunbeds and some shade if needed. All a few steps from the villa entrance. The owners are on hand for any advice or answer an questions but give you all the privacy you require. They could not have been better, we had a Tapas evening which was lovely Anna even managed to cater for my simple tastes and same again when we had the Pizza evening. So nice to have your meal delivered to your terrace without even needing to go out, Bliss. We ate out twice in Alhama de Granda and the food was very good good quality and great value. We shopped both in the village which has all the basics and in the town with 2 bigger supermarkets and had 2 BBQ's They also organised a mountain bike for my husband for some early morning bike rides on the lovely quiet road, might be a bit hilly for some but he thoroughly enjoyed it. We visited the lake, very pretty, did not swim as it was mid afternoon too hot and no shade at the water edge so had a cool drink at the camp site kiosk. Visited the Alhambra in Granada which we had pre-booked 2 months before travel. Very hot again but worth it. Friday morning market in Alhama de Granada worth a visit do a lovely spit roast cooked chicken for lunch. Thermal spa waters just outside Alhama de Granada in you fancy a dip at the side of the river. Drive to the coast about an hour but why bother stay at the villa with your own pool much nicer than the beaches and sea. The dogs Ruby, Poppy and Leon are so friendly and welcome you every time you come back and loved having them around. Pure relaxation, peace and quite and away from it all with fab hosts I would not hesitate to highly recommend.

Summary: Very friendly and helpful owners. Peaceful setting. Brilliant weather. Much needed and well used pool. Friendly dogs, but can be intrusive. Ear plugs may be useful due to nightly “dog’s chorus”, and early morning cockerel !!!! Local villages interesting and inhabitants all very friendly. Lake Bermejales disappointing as water levels VERY low due to lack of rains. Road trip to coast via Velez Malaga very interesting (congratulations to Andy for this almost daily commute for work !!) A truly Spanish area.

Summary: We spent a week at the villa and it was an amazing start to our holiday. The views are stunning, Anna was so welcoming and was on hand if we needed help/advice on anything. The villa was clean and comfortable. Our only niggle was the fridge/freezer was very small, which meant storage of beer, wine, water, soft drinks and food was very limited. Also (as it was so hot) a larger freezer area would have been good for ice cream, ice, food, etc. A wall cupboard to store food too would have been useful as we ended up just having stuff on the counter (which attracted ants) and then just leaving it on the dining table. So better food storage facilities would be our only real issue. You need a car but there are some lovely places to walk and visit. The gorge walk was amazing. We were so relaxed here, the dogs became a very big part of our stay and provided lots of therapy to our son and always gave us such a great welcome when we returned from our travels. Overall I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this villa, especially if you tend to eat out a lot. Anna and family are very respectful of privacy, the pool is great and it's sooo relaxing!. Watching the sunset with a beer at the end of the day has been missed greatly since returning home to the English weather. ☹ Thank you xx

Summary: For my wife's Christmas present I gave her a copy of the official guide to the Alhambra and Generalife with a bookmark of the flight tickets to Malaga. The only question now was where to stay. Having done a fair bit of research I came across Casa La Cuesta and sent a request of availability to Anna. What impressed me from the start was that I received a reply within the hour. This excellent speed of response continued throughout our correspondence. As soon as we arrived and were shown around by Holly (and the dogs!) and took in the jaw dropping scenery, I knew that I could not have made a better choice if I had tried. My Brownie Points with 'er indoors were now off the scale!! The two bedrooms (one twin and one double) were both spotlessly made up so we could use either. The kitchen / dining / living room in the middle was clean and the welcome pack of all the essentials you could need was the best we have ever come across. We would say, however, that the oven could benefit from a little TLC. Unfortunately Anna was in the UK for the duration of our stay but Andy, Holly and the dogs were the perfect hosts - there when you needed them and discreet enough not to intrude on your privacy otherwise. We ate at the villa for the most part so cannot comment on restaurants but the little shop in the village is OK for the basics. For a bigger shop search out the Dia supermarket in Alhama for everything you might need. It's a bit tucked away so ask Andy or Anna for directions. The drive to the Alhambra is pretty straight forward and we did it in 55 minutes early morning but allow an hour an a half just in case. I cannot recommend Casa La Cuesta highly enough - there just aren't enough superlatives! There is an excellent visitors guide on the dining table which we found most useful. A couple of pointers: there is no fresh milk available anywhere and always use the bottled water for drinking, even for boiling for tea and coffee. The tap water comes from a well and although very clean, tastes gross! Anna, Andy and Holly, thank you SOOO much for a fabulous, but all too short holiday. We will be back!
